FAQ

  • ?

🖥️ Dedicated server hosting, what does it mean?

It's a type of web hosting where a provider dedicates a remote server to a person or organization. All capacities of this server work only for one customer, without "neighbours" how it can be on shared hosting or VPS server

  • ?

💰 How much does a dedicated server cost?
The price is very flexible because it depends on the resources that you need. The average price is 50-100$ per month, which can rise to many thousands of dollars for really capacity servers. In our catalogue of dedicated hosting, you can find a lot of offers for "different wallets".

  • ?

❔ Why do I need a dedicated server?

A dedicated server will be suitable in case when you should run a large website that demands a lot of resources and with many visitors (a lot of thousands per day). For example: E-commerce and Web-portals

  • ?

    🛡️ Is dedicated hosting secure?

Dedicated hosting can be a secure option, but it ultimately depends on how it is set up and managed by the hosting provider and the user.
Dedicated hosting involves having a physical server dedicated to a single user, which means that the user has complete control over the server's security and can customize it to their needs. This level of control can be advantageous for security, as it allows for greater flexibility in implementing security measures and monitoring the server.
However, the security of a dedicated server also depends on the hosting provider's security practices and the user's ability to properly configure and manage the server. If the hosting provider has lax security practices or the user is inexperienced in server management and security, the server can become vulnerable to attacks.
In summary, dedicated hosting can be secure, but it is important to choose a reputable hosting provider, implement proper security measures, and regularly monitor and update the server to ensure its security.

Our List of the 3 Best Dedicated Server Providers in 2026

When people start looking at getting an online presence, whether it be for a personal site or a business website, it will most likely be a standard shared hosting plan. As time goes by and their business grows (or personal site for that matter), they would more often than not look at upgrading to a VPS (virtual private server) plan, but what happens when they outgrow this too?

Well, this is when you start looking at dedicated servers. By upgrading to these plans, you will immediately stop sharing resources with "noisy neighbours", and instead have an entire physical machine dedicated to your exact needs, which means better performance, better control, and most importantly (well, for me at least), better security. However, choosing the right provider is probably the most important decision you will have to make as the market is flooded with so many options, many of which seem to offer the same thing as the specs might look the same to the “Average Joe” type of users, but in reality, it isn’t always comparing apples with apples.

The three providers that made my list for 2026 are Liquid Web, Is*Hosting, and Fornex, and in this review I will aim to give you more insight into their strengths and weaknesses, prices, and for who it is most suited for.

1. Liquid Web

When Performance, Uptime, and Support Can’t Take a Back Seat

1-thumb.png

https://liquidweb.co.za

Liquid Web is an American-based hosting services provider that was started by Matthew Hill back in 1997 in Michigan. They have a solid reputation for being one of the more premium providers out there, and well-known for their excellent and swift support, as well as having a good range of hosting products that include fully and self-managed VPS servers, dedicated servers, bare metal servers, as well as cloud hosting. They aren’t too bothered with shared hosting, but rather focuses on more advanced solutions, such as dedicated servers amongst others, where performance, uptime, as well as fast and competent support isn’t negotiable. They offer an incredible 100% network and power uptime guarantee, and server uptime of at least 99.99%. This level of reliability is why a lot of major brands, such as Home Depot, Porsche, and National Geographic stay happy and loyal to them.

Their Performance, Hardware, and Reasons They Make This List:

Liquid Web's cloud dedicated servers are all “single-tenant” hardware, meaning your applications and data run in complete isolation, it also makes use of a hypervisor, which is software that splits your server into even smaller, independent virtual environments, each one independent from one another, but still provides the full CPU and RAM of the machine exclusively to you, so there’s no resource contention and the performance you get stays consistent. Unlike some traditional dedicated server plans, you get the flexibility of the cloud, making it easy to scale up or down as your needs change.

All their dedicated server plans are available in both managed and unmanaged versions and they are well priced too, although not the absolute cheapest on the market. These plans start with the self-managed “Intel Xeon E-2134” which comes with 4x 3.5GHz CPUs, 12GB RAM, 383GB SSD disk drives in RAID-1, and 10TB bandwidth, for $55.50 per month. On the other end of the spectrum, they offer the “Intel Xeon 6226R Dual” plan which boasts 32x 2.9GHz CPUs, 192GB RAM, a 3.2 TB SSD storage drive, and 10TB bandwidth for $293.50 per month. This plan is also fully managed. All their plans come standard with DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attach protection, full root access, as well as the choice between Plesk or cPanel as the control panel.

When things go south, and sooner or later it happens to everyone, they have your back with their friendly and very capable support team that is available around the clock via live chat, phone, emails, or support tickets. They have an average response time of 3 minutes, but in my experience, this is much faster as I have been assisted within a minute on multiple occasions.

2-thumb.png

Pros:

  • Excellent Performance: Besides giving a 100% uptime guarantee with an SLA on their hardware and network, they also offer a 99.99% uptime guarantee on the connection, which is some of the best in the industry. They make use of premium Intel CPUs and lightning-fast SSD disk drives.
  • Great Support: As mentioned before, their support team is incredible. They are well trained and quick to respond to queries. I can’t fault them in any way.
  • Decent Security: All their plans come standard with advanced DDoS protection, so your site will stay up during flooding attacks, and their data centers are HIPAA and PCI-compliant, which is good for users that need to comply with strict regulations.

Cons:

  • Not the Cheapest: Liquid Web’s dedicated server plans are well prices but certainly is not the cheapest provider around. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for in my opinion, what they offer is worth every cent.
  • Data Center Locations: They currently operate data centers in London, Sydney, Amsterdam, and then a couple in the USA. Although this gives them a global footprint, it is still fewer than some of their competitors.

2. is*hosting

When You Need Ultimate Flexibility and Affordability

3-thumb.png

https://ishosting.com

Is*hosting might not be as well-known as Liquid Web, but they certainly are a formidable player when it comes to dedicated servers. This Estonian-based hosting provider has been at it for more than 20 years, and offers an impressive mix of affordability, global reach, and user control, making them especially popular amongst developers and gamers alike, as well as businesses that want the power of dedicated hardware, but still have a budget to keep to. They have arguably the biggest range of data center options on offer in the industry, so you are sure to have your server as close to your target audience as possible.

Their Performance, Hardware, and Reasons They Make This List:

As mentioned before, their network coverage is massive to say the least! You get to choose from over 40 data center locations that span 5 continents, and their prices are more than reasonable. Many online reviews consistently praise them for their "good ping and bandwidth" which is critical for gamers as well as running applications. To sign up with them takes mere minutes, and if you run into trouble, they have a very helpful and well-trained support team on standby to assist. You can reach them via live chat and support tickets 24/7.

When it comes to hardware, they don’t skimp either, as all their servers run on blazing-fast NVMe disk drives and premium Intel CPUs, as well as a blistering-fast 100Gbps network. Their plans range from 2x 3.2 GHz Intel Pentium CPUs, 8GB DDR3 RAM, and 500GB HDD (standard HDD not SSD) on the “NL3-0” plan, their entry-level option, which goes for $66.67 per month, up to 32x 3.85GHz AMD EPYC CPUs, 1152GB DDR5 RAM, and 3x 1.92TB NVMe disk drives on the “NL4-12” plan, their top-tier option which will set you back an eye-watering $1130 per month. All plans come standard with an IPv4 address, full root access, and advanced DDoS protection. Furthermore, their servers are also available as fully managed or self-managed, and they give users the choice between Ubuntu, Debian, Alma Linux, Rocky Linux, CentOS or one of the Windows versions as the OS, as well as the choice between ISPManager, cPanel, Hestia, aaPanel, FastPanel, or DirectAdmin for the control panel.

4-thumb.png

Pros:

  • Huge Choice of Data Centers: They offer users over 40 data center locations to choose from. Probably one of, if not the biggest number of choices in the industry.
  • Budget Friendly: Their entry-level servers are super-affordable and include excellent specs.
  • Managed & Unmanaged: When you sign up with them you can choose how involved you want to be with managing your server. You can either let them handle all maintenance, or you can do it yourself if you are comfortable with it and save a buck or two in the process.
  • Good Support: As with Liquid Web, is*hosting offers solid support. Their agents are knowledgeable and response times are fast.

Cons:

  • Too Many Options: The huge choice of data centers, plans, operating systems, and choices of control panels can be daunting to inexperienced users.
  • Throttling: is*hosting actively monitors all server loads and if your usage consistently exceeds their recommendations they could throttle your bandwidth without notice.

3. Fornex

The Ultra-Reliable and User-Friendly European Provider

5-thumb.png

https://fornex.com

Fornex is a hosting provider that has a solid reputation among users in the region and beyond mostly for being really user-friendly and very reliable. They operate out of Estepona, Spain, and are made up of a relatively small team of around 23 hosting professionals. Unlike Liquid Web and is*hosting, they only offer fully managed dedicated servers, which are surprisingly affordable, and users get to choose between having their server located in either Germany, Sweden, or the Netherlands.

Their Performance, Hardware, and Reasons They Make This List:

Their dedicated servers include either Intel, Ampere, or AMD CPUs, as well as standard SSD or NVMe disk drives depending on which plan you opt for. These range from the “Next 4410” plan which comes with 2.1GHz Intel XEON CPU, 32GB RAM, and 2x 480GB SSD disk drives which goes for $113.16 per month at the time of writing, up to their top-tier option, the “GPU: H100” plan features a very powerful 32x AMD EPYC 9354 3.3GHz CPUs, 256GB RAM, and 2x 960GB blazing-fast NVMe disk drives, which sells for $1930.53 per month. All plans come with full root access, advanced DDoS protection, IP-KVM access, and unlimited bandwidth.

They also offer a decent array of control panels to choose from, such as BeAdmin, cPanel, Hestia, aaPanel, OpenPanel, and the lesser-known Brainy control panel, to name just a few. When it comes to operating systems, the choices are just as impressive! They let you choose between Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, AlmaLinux, as well as a couple of Windows Server editions, and it is worth noting that the Windows options include pre-configured RDP access.

6-thumb.png

Pros:

  • Great Value for Money: To the uninformed their prices might seem slightly more expensive than some of their competitors, but one needs to keep in mind that they only offer fully managed dedicated servers, so all the maintenance and updates, etc, are handled by them. So, in reality, their plans are actually very affordable.
  • Good Range of Control Panels: As mentioned before, they offer several options when it comes to control panel. You also get full root access, so you can install your own if you prefer.
  • Good Support: Their support agents are known for being helpful and knowledgeable and are available 24/67.

Cons:

  • Only EU Data Centers: All their data centers for their dedicated server plans are located in Europe which may not be ideal for users targeting other regions such as North America or Asia.
  • Limited Payment Options: If you sign up with them you can only pay via Visa, which I hope will change as most providers provide various payment options.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What is a Hypervisor in dedicated servers?

The hypervisor is specialized software that turns one physical dedicated server into many smaller, "servers" that act exactly like real, independent computers. These are called virtual machines (VMs). The two most famous brands of hypervisors you might encounter are VMware and Proxmox.

2. What is a dedicated server exactly?

A dedicated server is a physical server rented exclusively for your use. Unlike shared or VPS hosting, you are not sharing resources with anyone else. This provides maximum performance, security, and control. You need a dedicated server for resource-heavy websites (like large e-commerce stores or web portals with millions of visitors), complex applications, game servers, or when you require specific security or compliance configurations.

3. What is the difference between managed and unmanaged dedicated servers?

Unmanaged dedicated servers are essentially a bare-metal server with a functioning OS kernel and not much else. Besides this you are responsible for the updates, patches, bootloader configuration, firewall rules, hypervisor, SSD partitioning, and even out-of-band management via IPMI or iDRAC, which could be overwhelming if you don’t have the knowledge or time. A managed dedicated server on the other hand is maintained by the hosting provider but are usually a bit more expensive.

4. Which of these providers is best for a business that needs high reliability?

I would go for Liquid Web as they are the undisputed leader when it comes to high-reliability and mission-critical applications. They offer a 100% uptime SLA on hardware, and an uptime guarantee of 99.99%, which is above the industry standard.

5. Which of these providers is the best for a developer?

Personally, this is a tough choice between is*hosting, which is an excellent choice for a developer due to its full root access, wide range of OS options, and massive number of server locations to choose from, and Fornex, which hits that sweet spot between affordability and user-friendliness. But, If I have to choose, it would probably be the latter, mainly because their plans are fully managed and their options of operating systems and control panels are superior.
