Our 10 Best VPS & VDS Hosting Providers in Netherlands for 2026
Where Local Expertise Meets Global Standards
If you are the type of user that browses straight pass shared hosting plans and go directly to VPS (virtual private server) or VDS (virtual dedicated server) when looking for hosting solutions in the Netherlands, you are probably doing it for a very specific reason. Maybe you need that really low latency for your predominantly Dutch audience, or perhaps you need DCMA ignored hosting options, or are strict about GDPR compliance and want your data to stay within Dutch borders. But whatever your reason might be, you have probably noticed by now that searching through all the options online is a massive headache.
I have been involved in the IT industry for a while (decades if I am being honest) and recently, I got the chance to test out a few Dutch VPS & VDS providers to compile a list of the top 10 providers according to me.
So, let’s get started. Here are our 10 best VPS/VDS providers in the Netherlands right now. I have included everything from budget-friendly options to enterprise-grade hosting giants.
1. AbeloHost
The "Offshore" Dutch Master
![]()
Best for: Users who need privacy, video streaming services, crypto projects, or storage of large data
Data Centers: VPS servers are in the Netherlands, and VDS / Dedicated servers in the Netherlands and Germany
Payment options: All major credit cards, PayPal, WebMoney, Bitcoin, Tether, AilPay, and UnionPay
If you have been searching for Dutch hosting providers, AbeloHost would have probably popped up in the results. They were founded in 2012 and currently offer shared hosting, Linux and Windows VPS plans, dedicated servers, GPU & AI VPS servers, and domain registrations.
What stands out for me about this company is how generous they are with the disk space they include in their VPS plans. While everyone else is giving you 50GB of NVMe disk space, AbeloHost throws in 480GB of storage space on the second highest plan, and an incredible 960GB of fast SSD storage on their top-tier option. They also only make use of premium AMD Opteron, AMD Ryzen, AMD EPYC, and Intel Xeon CPUs, and all plans come standard with 99.99% uptime, full data privacy, SSL/TLS encryption, intrusion detection, dedicated firewalls, and antivirus & malware scans to name just a few, and this all comes with complete and total privacy protection.
The Good: They offer a full 30-day money back guarantee on all their plans, as well as unlimited bandwidth. Their security is excellent, support is great, and they are one of the few providers that still offer anonymous payment methods like crypto currencies.
The Downside: You will probably find cheaper alternatives within a minute or two when searching for a provider. Their prices are not the cheapest, but in my opinion, one should take into consideration what they include, as it is a lot. Another drawback is the lack of flexibility they offer, as you are pretty limited when it comes to reshaping or personalizing their hosting plans to suit your own unique requirements.
2. TransIP
The Dutch Giant
![]()
Best for: Newbies, IT professionals, VPS AI Automation, Developers, and pretty much anyone looking for a quality hosting provider in the Netherlands.
Data Center: The Netherlands (the Hague & Amsterdam)
Payment options: iDEAL (a local Dutch bank), all major credit cards, and PayPal
TransIP is probably the name most people will recognise on this list. They were founded in 2003 by Ali Niknam, in the bustling university town of Leiden. This provider currently offers hosting services such as domain registrations, shared hosting, VPS hosting, as well as cloud and storage solutions. For many they are the "national champion" of Dutch hosting.
Their VPS plans are available in managed and unmanaged options, as well as BladeVPS (shared resources with standard SSD drives, and much more affordable) and PerformanceVPS (AMD EPYC processors, dedicated vCPUs, NVMe storage on Ceph clusters, and a bandwidth of 2.5 Gbps). Another feature I love about TransIP is their control panel, simply named the TransIP Control Panel. It is completely custom-built. They are not the cheapest Dutch proivider and don’t always offer the absolute best price, but in my personal opinion, they are worth every cent. All plans come with excellent security and a huge choice of operating systems.
The Good: They are ISO 27001 (Security) and 9001 (Quality) certified, and all plans come standard with network firewalls and daily backups. TransIP has great uptime and uses premium hardware and will tell you exactly which CPU you are on, for example AMD EPYC or Intel – they are transparent like that.
The Downside: They are slightly on the expensive side, and their "Sandbox" VPS is IPv6 only. So, if you don't know what that means, rather just avoid it. They also don’t include a free SSL certificate with their plans, so this will cost extra.
3. ViceTemple
The Adult Content King
![]()
Best for: Hosting adult content, DCMA ignored hostuing, gaming serves, low-latency trading applications, as well as discord bots.
Data Centers: Amsterdam (Interxion), USA, Canada
Payment options: All major credit cards, bank transfers, bitcoin, altcoins
ViceTemple was founded in 2016, and they are all about hosting adult content. While they do general VPS, their hardware is tuned for speed above all else. Their VPS plans range from an affordable $28 per month for their “Mischievous Noble” plan, which includes 2GB RAM, 1 Intel Xeon E5-2650 v2 CPU, 20GB SSD (RAID 10), a free SSL certificate, and 1 dedicated IP address, up to a hefty $418 per month, for their “Big Boy 3” plan, which comes with 64GB RAM, 1 Xeon E5-2650 v2 CPU, 640GB fast SSD disk space, a free SSL certificate, and 1 dedicated IP address. The servers are fully managed and includes DDoS protection and a 99.99% uptime guarantee.
They are also one of the few providers that don't hide the fact that they are happy to host "unusual" projects.
The Good: Their plans are easily scalable and their NVMe drives are snappy. They use premium Intel XEON CPUs, and all plans carry a full 30-day money-back guarantee.
The Downside: ViceTemple's entry-level shared hosting and VPS plans are affordable, but everything else carries a hefty price tag that will make your eyes water. Take for example their top-tier “Vengeful Archon” VDS plan, which will set you back $2350 per month. Not for conservative audience, and if you're seeking a free-speech platform without adult content, this provider simply isn't suited for you.
4. Versio
The Budget Player
![]()
Best for: Entrepreneurs, Students, developers, and anyone looking for the budget-friendly hosting.
Data Centers: The Netherlands
Payment options: payments via iDEAL bank, all major credit cards, or by direct debit orders
Versio is well-known in the Netherlands for being highly affordable, and they often run promotions on top of their already great prices where you can get a VPS for only a few euros a month. They are a budget provider in every sense of the word, but they are reliable and the real deal. This company has been doing business since 2008 and have over 1,384,543 domains on their server at the time of writing. If you just need a server to test a script, host a small VPN, or just learn Linux without spending your life savings, then Versio is your friend, however, one needs to be aware that their VPS plans are fully unmanaged.
The Good: Their entry-level VPS plan, the “VPS Cloud II” is super affordable, coming in at only €21.99 per month and includes 2 vCore CPUs, 2GB RAM, 80GB fast SSD disk space, and a generous 5TB of traffic, and all plans come with a money-back guarantee.
The Downside: As their plans are self-managed, you are responsible for the security of your server. They also have a "Fair Use" policy that kicks in pretty fast and may throttle your speeds.
5. Serverspace
The Global Cloud with a Local Hub
![]()
Best for: Any databases, containers, media, hosting of websites, deployment of app runtime, conduct analytics, implement DevOps, blockchain projects, AI projects, or for developers who want a modern UI, hourly billing provider, with multi-cloud capabilities.
Data Centers: Amsterdam (Equinix AM2), Kazakhstan, USA, UAE, Canada, Brazil
Payment options: All major credit cards, Everscale, and PayPal (using a prepaid balance model)
Serverspace is a cloud platform that was in-house developed and launched in 2012 under the ITGlobal brand in the Netherlands. They cater for the local as well as international market and just by glancing at their website one immediately gets the impression that they are more suited for bigger projects and advanced users. They offer a wide range of services such as cloud servers, VMWare cloud, Kubernetes, VPS (virtual private cloud), to name just a few.
This provider operates on a pay-as-you-go model, meaning you deposit funds, and they deduct as you use it. This is best for temporary workloads, and you can for example deploy a Windows server, do a heavy rendering task for a couple of hours, and then delete it, paying only a few cents.
The Good: They make use of Xeon Gold CPUs and NVMe SSDs ensuring blistering-fast speeds and guarantees a 99.9% uptime. Their security is excellent and support great. As mentioned before, they work on a granular Billing model, and you only pay in 10-minute increments.
The Downside: The fact that you need to deposit money first might be a deal-breaker for some, and some add-ons like backups will cost extra.
6. Yourhosting
The Service-Forward Dutch Host
![]()
Best for: Shared hosting, domain registrations, email solutions, as well as managed & self-managed VPS hosting hosting plans at very affordable rates.
Data Centers: The Netherlands
Payment options: iDEAL bank, Klarna, and Bancontact
Yourhosting has been providing hosting services for 25 years and counting, and have acquired other well-known brands such as Argeweb, SoHosted, Vevida, Alphamega Hosting, VIP Internet, Realhosting, and DeHeeg, along the way. They currently offer services such as domain registrations, shared hosting, managed and unmanaged VPS hosting, email solutions, website design, as well as their famous "ServicePlus" services, which includes things like "Webmaster Service" – where they actually help you fix things.
For VPS, this is a massive advantage. If you buy a VPS elsewhere and it breaks, you are on your own, but with Yourhosting, if your VPS goes down because you messed up the firewall, their support (for an extra fee or on higher plans) will bail you out. Their plans are also very well priced. For example, their entry-level self-managed VPS plan, the “Pro 4” goes for a mere €9.99 for the first month (then renews at €29.99 per month) and for this you get 2x vCore CPUs, 4GB RAM, and 174GB blazing-fast SSD storage.
The Good: They offer managed and unmanaged VPS solutions and offer a very stable network. Their initial signup prices are also very affordable.
The Downside: If you were hoping for Windows VPS options, you are out of luck as they only offer Linux-based VPS plans. Their renewal prices are also a lot higher, so keep that in mind.
7. Flexwebhosting
The Reliable Choice for Small to Medium Sized Businesses
![]()
Best for: Affordable VPS servers hosting eCommerce websites on Magento, WordPress, Docker or custom PHP apps needing specific configurations. High availability as well as standard VPS servers and domain registrations.
Data Centers: The Netherlands (the Hague area)
Payment options: payments via iDEAL bank, all major credit cards, or by direct debit orders
Flexwebhosting first opened their doors in 2001 and although they operate independently, they form part of the Versio group. Their VPS plans are "semi-managed," meaning they will take care of the hardware and the hypervisor, but the rest is your responsibility. The only OS that comes with any of their standard VPS plans is AlmaLinux, however, you can also build your own server through their “High Availability Cloud VPS” options, and this comes with the Apache Cloudstack zone, from where you can effortlessly run other operating systems, such as CentOS 8, Debian 10, and Ubuntu 20. Their prices are fair, but certainly not the cheapest I have seen, and their support is great.
The Good: They only make use of LiteSpeed web servers and blazing-fast NVMe disk drives on their VPS plans. Their support agents are well-trained and quick to reply, and their prices are competitive.
The Downside: Their VPS plans are only available in Linux and comes standard with the AlmaLinux OS, there’s no other options to choose from. Also, a control panel such as DirectAdmin or cPanel is an add-on product and will cost you extra, so if you are on a tight budget, be prepared to manage this server via SSH commands.
8. Hostnet
A Dominant Force in the Dutch Hosting Scene
![]()
Best for: Developers, small businesses, or system administrators who works with VPS servers.
Data Centers: Amsterdam
Payment options: Payments can be made via iDEAL bank, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express
Hostnet, which was founded by Harold Douwes in 1999, is one of the oldest providers on this list. They were acquired by the massive group.one (also known as ‘the Group’) in 2020, but their infrastructure in Amsterdam remains as strong as ever. They offer both managed and unmanaged VPS hosting plans, and offer a few VPS servers to choose from, or you can build your own by selecting the specs - RAM from 1 to 8GB, SSD disk space from 25 to 2525GB, vCPUs from 1 to 4 cores, as well as your choice of operating system, with choices being Ubuntu versions 18.04, 20.04, 22.04 and 24.04, Debian 9, 10 or 11, CentOS 7, or AlmaLinux 8.
The Good: They are one of the most reliable and trusted providers in the Netherlands, and their prices are affordable. Their support agents and knowledgeable and eager to assist.
The Downside: Their VPS servers don’t come with automatic backups or a familiar control panel such as Plesk or cPanel as standard. These are add-on products and will cost extra.
9. AltusHost
The Managed VPS Specialist with European Soul
![]()
Best for: Businesses, GDPR-conscious agencies, and developers who want premium managed support without losing root access.
Data Centers: Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Bulgaria
Payment options: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal, Bank Transfers, iDEAL bank payments, Bancontact, KBC/CBC Payments, Belfius, ING Home’Pay, Przelewy24, EPS, Multibanco, PaysafeCard, and Alipay
AltusHost have been in business for more than 15 years and serve more than 10,000 clients across the globe. They offer a range of hosting services such as domain registrations, shared hosting, as well as VPS and dedicated servers.
When you first go to their VPS website page, you will notice that they clearly label their plans as "Managed VPS", but unlike many providers who use "managed" as a buzzword, AltusHost seems to really deliver. Their smallest VPS plan, the “VM-1”, gives you 2 CPU cores (minimum 2.0 GHz per core, guaranteed), 2GB RAM, 40GB SSD storage, and 5 TB bandwidth for only €19.95 per month, they also throw in a IPv4 and IPv6 address – excellent specs for the price you are paying in my opinion.
Furthermore, AltusHost gives you full root access on their managed VPSplans. That means you get the best of both worlds - their team handles the security patches, firewall configurations, and OS updates, while you still have the freedom to install any software you like, configure PHP settings exactly how you want, or run that weird Python script that your business depends on.
The Good: They include full root access, KVM virtualization, NVMe/SSD RAID storage, friendly 24/7 technical support, free DDoS protection, daily off-site backups, cPanel or DirectAdmin options, a 99.9% uptime guarantee, and a full 30-day money-back guarantee on all their VPS plans. Their prices are affordable, and they hold ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 27001 (information security) certifications, which means if you are handling sensitive customer data or need to prove GDPR compliance, those certificates are worth their weight in gold.
The Downside: They only offer Linux-based VPS server plans, and their live chat support is only available from 8 AM to 6 PM CET. You can submit tickets anytime, but if you are the type who works on your server at 3 AM on a Sunday and needs instant help, that might annoy you. However, their ticket support is 24/7, but response come fast in my experience.
10. MyHBD
The Developer-Friendly Underdog with One-Click Apps
![]()
Best for: Developers who want pre-configured environments (Docker, n8n, NextCloud), users on a tight budget, or anyone who wants a reliable VPS server in the Netherlands.
Data Centers: Netherlands
Payment options: Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Cryptocurrencies, and Alipay
MyHBD is the new kid on the block, on this list at least, as they have only been operating for 5 years. They appear to be run by a small, technically minded team, and have raked up more than 1000 customers in this time, which is pretty impressive. MyHBD launched their Netherlands VPS node specifically to serve the European market, and they have put together something really interesting, and something the VPS market desperately needs - pre-configured VPS images for specific use cases. This is not something you see from the big players like TransIP or Hostinger for example.
The Good: This Dutch provider offers specialized VPS plans, a standout feature if you ask me! These include pre-configured environments for Docker (with Docker engine and Docker Compose ready to go), n8n (workflow automation, 400+ app integrations), Nextcloud (self-hosted cloud storage with end-to-end encryption), WireGuard VPN (modern VPN protocol pre-tuned), LEMP (Linux, Nginx, MySQL, PHP), and LAMP (Apache, MySQL, PHP with phpMyAdmin).
Their base Launch VPS plans start at only €2.50 per month, which is supper affordable, and their standard NL1 plan, which comes with 2 vCPUs, 2GB RAM, 30GB NVMe, and 15TB bandwidth will only set you back €9.00 per month.
The Downside: Their plans don’t come with a control panel as standard, so be prepared to fork out some extra cash for this if you don’t want to manage your server with SSH.
My Final Thoughts
How to Pick the best Dutch VPS provider for your needs
Choosing the right VPS / VDS provider in the Netherlands really comes down to what you value most in my opinion.
If you want raw storage and absolute privacy: Go with AbeloHost. You cannot beat their disk space and unlimited traffic for the price.
If you are a developer who needs automation and a modern UI: Then Serverspace.io or TransIP should be the ones you look at.
Tight budget? Check out Versio, just watch the renewal.
If you are a business that cannot afford downtime but doesn't have a System administrator: Yourhosting or Flexwebhosting are excellent choices.
Just a word of advice - cheap usually means "unmanaged". So, if you buy a Windows VPS for €5 a month for example, you are expected to know how to secure it yourself. Factor in your own time when calculating the best VPS plan for your needs. Happy hosting.
