First Impression

RDP Monster is a European hosting provider that has been operating for more than 10 years. They focus heavily on anonymity and provide services such as Linux and Windows-based VPS servers, RDP servers (remote desktop protocol), as well as dedicated servers with a strong focus on trading and automation VPS needs in particular, with products like forex VPS, shares VPS, Crypto VPS, streaming RDP, and Discord Bot VPS, to name just a few. This provider discloses little about their team or operations, but they come across as a solid provider according to their current customer base if Trustpilot is anything to go by. They are budget-friendly and operate data centers in Europe and the United States.

Trial Period

Unfortunately, this provider doesn’t offer any free trials for you to test them out first so you can be sure they will fit your needs before signing up. They also don’t seem to have a 30-day money-back guarantee, or any for that matter either, so be certain they are what you need before committing. Luckily, all their plans offer monthly billing too, and I would recommend starting with this option. If they don’t live up to your expectations, you won’t lose too much.

Billing Cycle

All RDP Monster’s plans, whether it be the VPS servers, dedicated servers, or Windows RDP servers, come in 3 billing options. You can either pay monthly, quarterly, or annually, with the last 2 options offering discounts of between 10% to 17%.

They currently accept payments via all major credit cards through Stripe, Bitcoin, USDT, Monero, as well as more than 8 other cryptocurrencies, and as they provide “anonymous” hosting, no KYC (this stands for “Know Your Customer" - a widely used practice where financial institutions and service providers verify a customer's identity to comply with anti-money laundering and fraud prevention regulations) or ID is required.

Control Panel

To manage your server and hosting environment, they provide their very own control panel with all their VPS plans. This custom-built panel is user-friendly and will get the job, but I have to admit, it feels rather basic, and if you are used to a panel such as cPanel, this might take some getting used to. With this panel users can easily run reinstallations, do reboots and password changes, and it also comes with noVNC , an open-source JavaScript library and web-based VNC client.

Their dedicated servers, on the other hand, don't come with any control panel, but you do get full root access so you can install your own.

Limits

Their VPS plans, which all run on AMD Ryzen 7950X and Intel Xeon Gold CPUs with dedicated vCPU cores, DDR4 or DDR5 ECC RAM, and blazing-fast NVMe SSD disk drives, are available in 5 dirt-cheap options that range from 2x CPUs, 6GB DDR4 ECC RAM, and 40GB NVMe disk space on their Basic plan, which goes for only $8.99 per month, up to 24x CPUs, 64GB RAM, and 200GB SSD disk space on the Elite plan, their top-tier option which will set you back $82.99 per month – very well priced for what you are getting! All these plans also come with ClickHouse analytics, Redis caches, and Elasticsearch indexes, and run on a 1Gbps unmetered network.

Their dedicated servers on the other hand all run on Intel Xeon, AMD EPYC, or Ryzen CPUs, ECC DDR4 or DDR5 RAM, and super-fast NVMe SSD storage. There are only 2 plans to choose from and both are located in France, with the first being the “France AMD Ryzen 7” plan, and as the name suggests it comes with an AMD Ryzen 7 3700x CPU, 128GB DDR4 RAM, and a 1TB NVMe M.0 SSD disk drive for $149.99 per month, and the other being the “France 1x Xeon Silver 4208” plan, which boasts 1x Intel Xeon Silver 4208 CPU, 128GB DDR4 RAM, and 1x 2TB NVMe SSD disk space for $249.99 per month.

Website Builder

As RDP Monster only offers VPS servers and dedicated servers, it comes as no surprise that they don’t include any type of website builder as this is usually found with providers that offer shared hosting. However, they do give full root access, so you are free to install your own builder or CMS (content management system) through which you will be able to create a website quickly and effortlessly.

Security

Besides a robust network firewall and advanced DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) protection, also known as flooding attack protection, you are basically left to fend for yourself when it comes to keeping your server secure. But, as their prices are dirt cheap one can hardly blame them for not including more security features, and with the money you save you can easily add extra layers and still be within budget.

OS

RDP Monsters’ Linux VPS plans offer users the choice between Ubuntu 20.04 / 22.04 / 24.04, Debian 11 / 12, CentOS 8 / 9, or Kali Linux as the operating system, while their Windows-based VPS server come with either Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2022.

4-thumb.png

On their dedicated servers the choices are between CentOS 7, CentOS 8 Stream, Debian 11 / 12, Ubuntu 20.04 / 22.04, Windows Server 2022, or Proxmox 7.4 / 8.1, and as you get full root access, you can install any OS you prefer, as long as that OS supports x86-64 otherwise it won’t be compatible with their servers.

Support

This is an area where I feel there’s room for improvement. If you get stuck with an error, and everyone does at some point in time, you will only be able to reach their support agents via live chat – no tickets, no phone support, only live chat. Furthermore, in my experience response times varied a bit. Weekdays were fine with responses within a minute or two, but on weekends be prepared to wait a bit longer. Luckily, their agents are well-trained, friendly and the live chat option is 24/7.

Conclusion

In my opinion, RDP Monster is a good option if you are after budget-friendly VPS hosting, especially for privacy-focused users, thanks to its anonymous sign-up process and support for over 10 cryptocurrencies, including Monero, with zero KYC checks. Their prices are easy on the pocket, and you get full admin rights and dedicated vCPU cores, which is great for running custom software, trading bots, or automation tools. However, their support is only available through live chat, and in my experience, they are not the quickest at all. If you are in the market for a new VPS provider and you are technically skilled, then they are worth a second look.
