First impression

B-One.net was founded in 2002 by Danish entrepreneurs Jacob Jensen and Thomas Frederiksen as a low-cost web hosting service. This small web hosting startup quickly expanded and in 2005 they moved their headquarters from Denmark to Dubai, shortly before they changed their name to the one we know today - One.com.

Currently, they have a massive customer base of over 1,500,000 users worldwide, which they serve from their offices that span 8 different countries (offering local support in several of them). Their products range from Shared Website Hosting, Dedicated WordPress Hosting, Email Hosting, and Microsoft 365 products.

Trial Period

When initially signing up for website hosting with One.com, you will automatically get a free hosting period of 3 months included on yearly plans (there's no trial period).

Their Website Builder however, carries a 14-day free trial, for you to try it out first before you decide to buy.

Billing Cycle

The payment methods on offer from One.com is PayPal, all major Credit and Debit Cards, as well as Bank Transfers.

Control Panel

One.com makes use of its own, custom-built Control Panel on all its hosting plans. It provides users with an easy-to-navigate and user-friendly interface, from where one can change their contact details, create email addresses, access the Website Builder, find your FTP login details, and more.

Customers will have the option to activate two-step verification to improve the security of their one.com control panel login.

Limits

One.com has 4 Shared Hosting plans, namely Beginner, Explorer, Enthusiast, and Guru. The Beginner plan features a more than decent, 50GB SSD storage space, 512MB RAM (which I personally feel might be too little), and 1 MariaDB database. Explorer packs a bit more punch with 100GB SSD space, 1GB RAM, and 5 databases, whilst Enthusiast offers 200GB space, 2GB RAM, and 10 databases. Their flagship plan, the Guru, boasts 750GB SSD space, 8GB RAM, and 20 MariaDB databases.

Although you can have unlimited email accounts on all plans, you are limited to 3GB of email storage space (except for Guru which has unlimited).

Unlimited bandwidth, SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol), 24/7 server monitoring, and mod_rewrite (a flexible and powerful way to manipulate URLs using an unlimited number of rules) comes standard on all plans.

Website Builder

It comes as no surprise that they feature their own website builder, simply named “the one.com Website Builder”. It is a user-friendly, web-based tool, that allows you to create fully formed, fully responsive, websites in no time, without any coding knowledge whatsoever. Simply choose a template from more than 150 options, drag-and-drop components to your workspace, and start creating your masterpiece. If you get stuck, there is also 24/7 support included.

One should note though that the builder isn’t free of charge and will be an additional monthly cost.

Security

One.com protection comes in the form of a free wildcard SSL certificate, that’s included and integrated into all their hosting packages, to cover all subdomains at a given domain. In addition to this, users will get free daily backups to protect their files, emails, and databases.

SiteLock, a cloud-based security tool that scans your website for malware and vulnerabilities, is also available at an extra monthly fee on all plans except Guru, where it is included free of charge. They offer their customers the choice between two SiteLock packages, the SiteLock Find, which does a daily scan of your website and alerts you if a threat is discovered, and the SiteLock Fix, which includes the same features as Find, but also fixes threats and vulnerabilities on the go.

OS

One.com makes use of Linux, the best-known and most widely used open-source operating system, on all its servers.

Support

One.com offers 24/7, multilingual support through Live Chat and an Email Ticketing System. I tried them out on both and was left with mixed feelings. The Live Chat agents are friendly, enthusiastic, and really quick to respond, probably even within 10 seconds, but took a very long time to answer even basic hosting questions, whilst their Email support only responded within a few hours. The biggest drawback for me personally is the lack of Phone Support.

There is however a decent knowledge base to look for solutions yourself.

Conclusion

Pros Cons
  • Excellent uptime;
  • Free SSL certificates.
  • Lack of phone support;
  • No VPS or dedicated server options;
  • Average support.

One.com plans are affordable but lack scalability, support is average, and their money-back guarantee is only 15 days compared to the industry average of 30 days. Their servers, however, perform well and come with excellent uptime, so with all things considered, One.com is a reliable hosting provider for newbies or small businesses that are looking for basic features and support, but should you need more there surely are better options out there.

Vishvjeet CheemaOne.com has a very pleasant interface to work on but they have very limited capabalities and controls to the server settings. Its has good speed and also very low downtime.User interface lacks some of the very basic things which are very important in real life. Prices are average.interface is sooting but very limited.Support is not so good.Diolis SulajI think that as one.com host for the prices it offers is one of the best, the site never falls down, and there are no frequent problems. For the price it offers is the best shared host.I would like to say that they have very poor support and my client's page was closed as if he had violated the rules of legality, but we did not receive any warning emails even after they closed the host clarifying to us about the violations we had committed.I have emailed them several times but never received a response as to what rule my client had violated.So i get out from one.comFoivos OikonomouLet's just start by mentioning that, I am using one.com for some of my clients.Honestly, I cannot understand how they can have such low prices with such amazing loading speeds. With some optimization on your website you can achieve great results. Moreover, their support team is very quick to resolve your issues and maybe most importantly on point!They also include a custom plugin for your Wordpress that gives you some quick and easy shortcuts to do something via one.com like staging.On the downside, if you use some of their "discouraged plugins" on your Wordpress site (like Wordfence, if that makes sense) you'll get an annoying permanent notification "You are using one or more plugins from the list of plugins we discourage." It's not a big issue, but it was the only con I could find.Jordan JI have used One many times in the past, I consider them a robust all-inclusive provider you get all the web hosting goodies you would expect in terms of plenty of disk space, emails, websites, backups, but also get a fair few extras in the forms of SEO, Protection, and WordPress features such as themes, performance optimisation, and more. They also have decent support, uptime, and overall server performance. I would happily recommend them.Zena BratcherI have used One.com for many years now for various clients and my own sites, to host websites mostly on Wordpress. The thing that attracted me initially was the competitive pricing. Having used them for some 10 years now, overall I think they are a good company and are very good at support and getting back to you promptly. Their online chat is fast. The only issues I have are:1. They tried at one point to automatically upgrade hosting packages used on multiple websites on renewal, hoping I wouldn't notice. I had to contact them to tell them to amend my invoice and keep me on the original (cheaper) package.2. The server speed is quite slow. I get an Internal 500 error quite frequently.3. Today one of my websites was up and down for about 10 minutes, but as I say, they are quick to support and resolve.Their control panel interface is very user-friendly also.Berroney Campbell Jr.One.com is a very easy host to use, I would recommend to anyone even persons thats not so big in the technical department. for one their support team is 24/7 and well professional, speed is on point. Even though their prices is low the quality is still amazing.Aieshah ShahVery clean website design and easy to navigate if I ever have a client who wants to buy a hosting but he.she is non-technical I would recommend them one.com for many reasons1- Their packages are displayed very well with all information given2- No Confusing stuff or Hidden Charges 3- Help is available 24/7Also, I am using a few websites with one.com for my clients, and they never complain. The dashboard provides all information which it should anyway and you can pay in your own currency they use IP tracker so they will automatically show you the currency where you are residing.Dan BechtoldOne has one big advantage - pricing was low and great for small personal or business websites. Nothing besides the price stood out to me as this hosting company is simply just average in my experience. Their speed and reliability were all solid as I never had any issues with them in those regards. I can recommend them if you are on a tight budget and are small to medium website.Erjon TafaOne has a wonderful support and server always up. Tickets are answered so quick! Just time to to bringing my daughter back home from school and voila! Answer for all, even difficult matters that others took 7 days to solve and eternal tickts.I've had a great experience with tech support. They helped me in a matter that wasnt related with their usual tasks. Very professional, very fast!I will move all my websites from other hosting companies to them.The service that OneHost provide is better than anyone I have dealt with in the past. The help their team provides is invaluable and without their extensive knowledge, I would not have a website! Any query I have is answered within minutes. This is why I would recommend OneHost to anybody!Hafiz Ehsan ul haqOnce one of my client buy hosting from one.com and i developed site for him. I Personal experienced till few months i found quick and reliable support and superb uptime while developing the site. I would like to recommend one.com.AbdelmadjidI don't know why I'm not able to consider One as a hosting company, I see it as a web page builder only especially with their user dashboard, it's not giving me the feeling of I'm using a hosting company at all.The prices are affordable but I noticed that the given features are very limited.Indra WidijantaProsMy experience of using one.com is their website builder feature that is quite handy to someone who doesnt know howto make a proper website from a technical experience. In addition they are very affordable even their most standard hosting package which costs only less than 2 dollars a month. With that you can get 2gigs of storage with personalized email accounts, etcFor the website builder they'll charge you as low as 2 dollars a month and you can get a shopify like appearance without hassleConsCompare to any "established" website builder such as Wix, Shopify and SquareSpace, the one that one.com has is quite outdated. There are some visual and technical aspects that is not really supported. So in overall, I would like to recommend this one but if you can look into other alternatives, better look for one.
