They are best known as one of the leading domain registrars, providing top-level domain names (TLDs), including gTLDs, ccTLDs, and nTLDs, as well as legacy domain registrations. They have also recently partnered with Wix, offering reduced costs on this leading online business platform.

In addition, they offer services such as email, Google Apps for Work, and SSL certificates.

Although their product range is somewhat limited, they excel in terms of performance and reliability. Their three hosting plans, Cloud Hosting, WordPress Hosting, and Shared Web Hosting, are reasonably priced and complimented with a 99.9 uptime guarantee, personalized emails, and free automated backups that run every 48 hours.

On the Cloud Hosting, there are 6 options to choose from, each slightly increasing in allocated SSD disc space, RAM, and VCPUS. The entry-level plan starts with 25GB space, 1GB RAM, and 1 VCPU, whereas the top plan features 320GB space, 8GB RAM, and 8 VCPUS.

Their traditional Web Hosting has three plans, aptly named Personal, Premium, and Business. The Personal plan will limit you to 1 website, 100 email accounts, 10 GB of disk space, and 10 MySql databases. Their Premium plan comes with a 25 Websites limit, unlimited email accounts, 100GB space, and 50 MySql databases and the Business plan is without any set limits.

Their WordPress hosting comes with unlimited space, bandwidth, free daily backups, and theme support.

Security

Security comes in form of a free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate that is included in all plans. They also offer Comodo Essential & RapidSSL advanced SSL certificates (Domain Validation as well as Wildcard), WHOIS Domain Privacy, and Domain Lock Plus (this will add a significant layer of security to your domains by restricting the ability to transfer them or make changes to their contact information when the lock is in place), at an additional monthly cost.

Support

Name.com doesn't offer telephonic support but is more than happy to assist via online chat or email. When choosing the chat option make sure you follow the instructions and correct URL should you wish to chat with a human, otherwise you will be stuck chatting with a bot, which could be frustrating. The chat option is however only available from 12 AM to 5 PM (MST) every day.

Conclusion

Name.com is a great choice for registering new domains. Their hosting packages are decent with enough resources, although slightly expensive, servers perform well and they are reliable. The biggest drawback for me personally is the lack of 24/7 support, but that being said they are still a good choice for beginners and small businesses.
