OVHCloud VPS Review 2025

Raw Power for the Technically Adept.

OVHCloud might not be the first name that people think of when searching for a new hosting provider but mention their name in a room full of developers, system admin, or IT professionals, and they will immediately know who you are talking about. This past week I was lucky enough to test their VPS plans out to paint you, the end user, a clear picture of what they offer. In this detailed OVHCloud VPS review, I will look at their pricing, the plans they offer, the signup process, and overall features they include in 2025.

OVHCloud has over the years built a reputation on solid infrastructure with a “what you see is what you get” approach. Their VPS hosting solutions are no different, it offers very powerful and scalable options for professionals such as developers, sysadmins, as well as businesses that have outgrown shared hosting but might not need a full dedicated server yet. They cater to those with command line knowledge. Let’s start this review by looking at the options they offer.

OVHCloud VPS Hosting Plans Overview

 A Big Buffet of Options

The first thing that struck me when I visited their website was the sheer number of VPS choices they offer on the OVHCloud VPS page. Unlike most providers who offer on average three or four simple plans, OVHCloud offers six choices, simply named VPS-1 to VPS-6. You must however, pay close attention to the OVHCloud VPS pricing Europe structure, as it's resource-based and the final cost depends heavily on your customizations. Furthermore, and this is a major plus, they offer Linux, BSD, and OVHCloud Windows VPS options, with Windows Server licenses available for an additional monthly fee. Their infrastructure is super-reliable, and each plan also comes standard with their much-vaunted OVHCloud VPS anti-DDoS protection, guaranteed bandwidth (it varies by option though), a complimentary IPv4 and IPv6 address, and your storage runs on blazing-fast NVMe SSD drives! So, what’s not to like about this provider?

Let’s take a look at what each plan includes. The pricing I'll mention is for the flexible monthly rate, but committing to an annual term usually brings the user a decent discount.

The OVHCloud VPS-1 Plan

The Budget-Conscious Entry Point Option

This option offers users the most affordable entry in the OVHCloud VPS pricing 2025 structure. In my opinion this plan is designed for small projects, or low-traffic websites. The resources are modest, not likely to turn any heads, and it's important to know these are burstable VPS models, meaning the vCPU performance isn't guaranteed 100% of the time. This plan starts at a very affordable price of $4.20 per month (most shared hosting plans are more expensive!), and comes with:

  • 4 vCPU;
  • 8GB RAM;
  • 75GB NVMe Storage;
  • 400Mbps unmetered bandwidth.

It's their most basic server, but for the price, it's hard to beat for a playground or a very lightweight application, and as mentioned before, cheaper than some shared hosting plans out there.

The OVHCloud VPS-2 Plan

More Bang for Your Buck

For me, this is where their “real” servers begin. This plan costs $6.75 per month, which is still very well affordable, and presents a solid foundation for a serious business website or application. This plan includes:

  • 6 vCPUs;
  • 12GB RAM;
  • 100Gb NVMe Disk Space;
  • 1Gbps unmetered bandwidth.

The OVHCloud VPS-3 Plan

A Big Setup Up in Power & Storage

This plan was designed for more demanding projects, or even freelancers with multiple websites. It will cost you $12.75 per month, which is considerably lower than most providers will charge for exactly the same thing. This plan comes with:

  • 8 vCPUs;
  • 24GB RAM;
  • 200GB NVMe Storage Space;
  • 1.5Gbps unmetered bandwidth.

The OVHCloud VPS-4 Plan

Stepping into the High-Performance Tier

For me, this is the definitive step up from a standard VPS server into a truly powerful machine, and it still comes in at a surprisingly good price of just $22.08 per month. This plan is excellent for resource-heavy applications, or small to medium-sized e-commerce websites. This plan includes:

  • 12 vCPUs;
  • 48GB RAM;
  • 300GB NVMe Storage Space;
  • 2Gbps unmetered bandwidth.

The OVHCloud VPS-5 Plan

A Power User's Playground

When you have outgrown standard servers and your projects start to demand some serious muscle and rapid data access, then this plan is the one you should look at. In my opinion, this plan is a total overkill for a simple blog, but ideal for large databases, complex web applications, or high-traffic websites that cannot afford any performance bottlenecks. It will cost you $34.34 per month, and you are getting:

  • 16 vCPUs;
  • 64GB RAM;
  • 350GB NVMe Disk Space;
  • 2.5Gbps unmetered bandwidth.

The OVHCloud VPS-6 Plan

Their Elite VPS Option

This is the peak of the OVHCloud VPS plans, an apex beast designed for the most intensive workloads imaginable. Even though it is their top-tier option, it will only cost you a mere $45.39 per month. This server is suited for high-traffic SaaS (software as a service) platforms that don’t need too much space, complex virtualization, or even large-scale data processing tasks. This plan will make you feel like you have a dedicated server, but at a fraction of the cost. This plan features:

  • 24 vCPUs;
  • 96GB RAM;
  • 400GB NVMe Storage Space;
  • 3Gbps unmetered bandwidth.

Key Features:

OVHCloud anti-DDoS Included: All the OVHCloud VPS plans comes standard with DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) attack protection. A feature I strongly feel should be included by default with any plan and with any provider – luckily OVHCloud got this right!

High-Performance Hardware: They only make use of premium server hardware as well as blazing-fast NVMe drives and guaranteed resources that provides excellent performance. No wonder they are so popular amongst developers.

Full Root Access: You have complete control to build your server environment exactly as you see fit.

Unmetered Bandwidth: All plans come with unmetered traffic, a huge benefit for growing sites. Just note that the speed differs from plan to plan.|

Global Data Centers: A strong presence in Europe, Asia, and North America.

What's Not Included:

A control panel (cPanel, Plesk) is a paid extra: Their website can be somewhat misleading to be honest as it seems this feature is included, but as soon as you go through the checkout steps you will notice that a control panel such as cPanel or Plesk will cost you extra.

Managed services: This is an unmanaged VPS, which means you are the sysadmin. It doesn’t come as a surprise as they cater more for IT professionals than the general public.

PremiumAutomated backups: Although daily backups are included free of charge, premium backups with a 7-day rolling period come at an additional monthly fee.

Support:

A Mixed Bag for the Uninitiated

OVHCloud provides 24/7 support, but the support they offer depends on the level of support you “purchase”. The options are Standard, Premium, Business, and enterprise, with each level offering quicker response times and available days the previous one. Their main strength is in infrastructure issues, so if your server goes down or there's a network problem, they are responsive. The agents are extremely well-trained and will be able to sort out just about any issue in no time.

Pros:

  • Premium High-Performance Hardware which is ultra reliable, and comes with super-fast NVMe storage.
  • Powerful anti-DDoS protection on all plans.
  • The flexibility of both Linux and Windows VPS options.
  • Various data center locations across Asia, Europe, and North America.

Cons:

  • cPanel or Plesk will cost you extra.
  • You will need to pay extra if you need quicker response times from their agents.
  • The initial setup and verification process can be more complex.

My Final Verdict

Is OVHCloud VPS the Right Choice for You in 2025?

OVHCloud offers incredible power and flexibility, but are they the right fit for you? I would say…

Yes, if:

If you are a developer, have a growing tech business, or is a system administrator with the skills to manage your own server, then the answer is an absolute yes! OVHCloud VPS servers gives you raw performance, infrastructure reliability, and the fine-grained control that comes with an unmanaged service, not to mention the DDoS protection and the flexibility of a global data center options.

Maybe not so much, if:

You are new to the VPS world, or if you run a small business, or is a blogger looking for a simple, all-in-one solution where the host manages security, updates, and software. If you prefer clicking a "Fix WordPress" button over SSH-ing into a server to diagnose an `htaccess` error, you would be far better served with a managed WordPress host or a provider that caters more to the general public, than to IT professionals.

My conclusion:

In this OVHCloud VPS hosting review it is clear that they deliver exceptional value for the technically capable. The OVHCloud VPS pricing Europe 2025 remains competitive, especially for the hardware you get. Just understand that the low entry price is a gateway to a DIY world. You are paying for the engine and the chassis; you are the mechanic. For the right user, it's a powerful and highly scalable workhorse. For the wrong one, it can be a frustrating black box.
