First impression

Webhoster is a Pakistani website hosting company established in 2009 by Ahmad Salim and Omer Salim. It is headquartered in Lahore, Pakistan and was once known as Webo.pk. They were rebranded to current one in 2016. Now, they have established themselves as one of the best hosting service providers in Pakistan, hosting over 5,000 websites for customers across the world. They offer Shared Hosting, VPS (Virtual Private Server) Hosting, Dedicated Server Hosting, Domain Registration and other related services, such as SSL Certificates and Email Solutions. 

Trial Period

The hosting services can be assessed with the help of a 7-day trial which is free for new users. Those who require some extra time are given a money-back guarantee of 30 days. This allows customers to use the services risk-free, and in case they feel dissatisfied within the first 30 days of use, they can get a full refund – no questions asked!

Billing Cycle

Webhoster has different billing plans for its customers. For shared hosting, customers have the option for one, two, or three year billing cycles, and there is some discount on offer for the longer commitments. Customers who sign up for VPS can pay annually, quarterly, every six months, or month-to-month.

They currently accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Paypal, EasyPaisa, JazzCash, UBL, bank transfers through Meeza, as valid payment methods.

Control Panel

Let's talk about what really matters - managing your hosting. Webhoster includes cPanel for free with all shared hosting plans, which is like getting the Mercedes of control panels at no extra cost. I've used it myself to set up emails, manage domains, and install WordPress in about 3 minutes flat. For VPS users, it's a different story - you'll need to pay extra monthly if you want cPanel, DirectAdmin, or other options like Plesk for Windows servers. Honestly, this is pretty standard across the industry, though I wish they'd throw in at least a basic panel for VPS customers.

Limits

Webhoster offers a wide range of scalable Shared Hosting plans tailored to accommodate varying needs and demands. Their plans are split into 3 sections namely Budget, Business, and Ultimate. The Budget range features 3 plans and provides an economical entry point with sufficient SSD disk space, bandwidth, and domain hosting capabilities for smaller-scale websites. The entry-level plan, the “Pre”, starts with 1GB SSD space, 1GB RAM, 5 MySQL databases, and 5x 500MB POP email accounts, which offers more size than most providers in Pakistan do with similar plans. The amount of space, RAM, Databases, etc. gradually increases with each plan. It includes essential features like free SSL certificates, a user-friendly control panel, and a one-click installer for popular CMS platforms, making it ideal for individuals and startups.

Moving up to the Business plan (available in 3 options), users benefit from increased resources such as higher disk space and bandwidth allocations, unlimited domain hosting, and advanced website builder tools. These plans cater well to growing businesses needing enhanced performance and flexibility. 

The Ultimate plans (also in 3 options) stand out with its unlimited NVMe disk space, bandwidth, and email accounts, along with priority 24/7 support and premium features like dedicated account management. It’s designed for large-scale websites requiring robust performance and scalability. The top-tier plan in this range, the Ultimate Pro boasts 4x Core CPUs, 6GB RAM, unlimited NVMe disc space, MySQL databases, and POP email accounts.

All plans include a free SSL certificate by Let's Encrypt, as well as free domain registration (except for the Pre plan that only offers a 15% discount on the domain name).

Website Builder

Sadly, they don’t include any website builders as part of their hosting plans, but they do include one-click installs of some of the top Content Management Systems, including WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal. With these CMS’s one can easily create a website quickly and without any coding knowledge. This provider also offer a service for web design. If they design your site, they will create it using the WordPress content management system and the Elementor page building plug-in.

Security

Having been burned by low-budget hosts in the past, Webhoster's security configuration was a breath of fresh air. They use CloudLinux across their servers in order to keep everything completely isolated - so when some idiot on your server gets hacked (and they do), your sites won't get hit. They have DDoS protection as well, which in my opinion is a must have for any hosting setup. They also include free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates, as well as advanced malware protection through Imunify360, to find and removed suspicious code from websites. Two-factor authentication comes as an optional as well. In short - they're serious about security without charging extra for basic measures.

OS

Their Shared Hosting plans run on the CloudLinux operating system, an optimized operating system designed with increased server stability, security, and efficiency, it mind. It separates every user using the server and thus makes each hosting account more stable and secure. For their VPS hosting, customers have the option between CentOS 7/8, Debian 9/10, Ubuntu 18.04/20.04/22.04, Rocky Linux 8/9, AlmaLinux 8/9, FreeBSD, openSUSE, and Windows Server 2012 R2/2016/2019/2022. 

Support

Webhoster support is good, available in various channels and at all times of the day. Reaction times for live chat responses are near-instant, while email and ticket support can be utilized for more in-depth questions, although responses on these channels took a few hours for me personally. They also have a decent knowledge base for those who prefer to do all the troubleshooting themselves. Support infrastructure as a whole caters to all classes of customers, ranging from new and inexperienced to experienced customers as well, so support is adequate in my opinion. 

Conclusion

Webhoster comes across as an attractive option for hosting through its robust features and stable service. It has good uptime, great security, and offers something for everyone as their shared hosting plans cater to a range of different needs. My only problem is perhaps that they offer too many choices for Shared Hosting, as it might overwhelm some. All things considered; they are definitely worth checking out!
