Mladen JevticI was using Webfaction back in the time before GoDaddy bought them.First what I would like to mention is their support. I had nothing but a good experience with them. They providing support only via Email, but they have always replied to my emails not longer than 3 hours. They were helpful, they explain everything and always mentioned advise for the future reference.The pricing model is a little bit higher then what it should be.You will need some time to get familiar with the custom made control panel and its GUI. For example, back at that time, to add an SSL certificate you must go manually, each part of the certificate.I used their London server and it was really responsive and with that had no issues.Share package was not so speedy as it should be, as the first managed package was.The reason why I left them is that they could not determine why all my websites were randomly not available. Not really sure what was the issue, they could not figure it out, so I had to change hosting.Divit JainI have been using Webfaction hosting for over a year and their support seems to be very poor. They provided bad server performance as well as back up plan doesn’t work at all. Overall a bad hosting for newbies.Lori HeslerSpecifically, what Webfaction offers, at a minimum- SSH access- support for PHP multiple versions, with custom php.ini; support for Perl, Python (also preferably multiple versions), Ruby- support for multiple development environments (Ruby on Rails, etc.))- guaranteed memory allocated to Web applications- support for Subversion and other version control systems (ability to create your own repositories)I really like this hosting services. Recommend!Anastasia SynenkoI have had an experience of work with webFaction when they were part of Citrix hosting (about 1.5 year ago). The most disappointing part was the speed of tickets processing and lack of real 24/7 online support, which slows things down. The documentation in their manuals is not very informative to people with little of experience. And even professionals may get confused by such guides, which do not have many informative screenshots included. Currently it's advertised on their site that they are ""teaming up with GoDaddy"". Hopefully this will result in the extension and improvement of their customer service and a fair review of prices.Among the pros I can only think of the free trial option and the ability to choose the datacenter location. Also pricing for the services advertised looks okay, but fully managed server with support, who may need several hours to process your simpliest request does not look okay.
