First Impressions
Malaysia is famous for its vibrant multicultural society, world-class street food, stunning tropical landscapes, and the Petronas Towers skyscraper, but they are also home to Shinjiru, one of Asia’s top hosting providers. This hugely successful hosting company was founded by Terence Choong, Jeffrey Khow, and Shaun Lim Shan Her, and first opened their doors in 2000. They offer a range of hosting services such as shared hosting, Strongbolt hosting, an offshore privacy-focused web hosting service, Bitcoin hosting, for when you want to stay anonymous, VPS (virtual private servers), dedicated servers, VPN (virtual private networks), as well as SSL certificates, anti-hacking, and web application firewalls (WAF). They are made up of a team of 50+ highly skilled hosting professionals and operate 8 data centers around the world.

Trial Period
Unfortunately, Shinjiru doesn’t offer potential clients a free trial to test out their services before they need to commit, however, they do offer a full 30-day money-back guarantee on their shared hosting plans. So, if you have signed up for this service with them and you decide that they are not the right fit for your needs and you are still within the initial 30 days, then simply cancel your plan with them for a full refund – no questions asked.
Billing Cycle
Shinjiru offers their shared hosting clients the option to either pay quarterly, semi-annual, annual, for 2 years, or for 3 years at a time, and at the time of writing they also offer 30% off for 3 months with the coupon JUN26BH30. Their servers, on the other hand, come with monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual billing cycle options.
They currently accept Bitcoin and Ethereum cryptocurrency, as well as all major credit cards and PayPal as valid payment methods.
Control Panel
This provider includes cPanel, the industry go-to option and by far the most popular control panel used around the world, in all their plans. This panel is super-easy to use, even for newbies, and offers a clean, intuitive dashboard from where one can manage all aspects of your hosting, such as managing files, creating email accounts, setup domains, create databases, and more, from one convenient location.
For their VPS users that need a bit more granular control, Shinjiru also offers the SolusVM control panel.
Limits
Shinjiru’s shared hosting plans all run on Litespeed technology with blazing-fast SSD disk drives, and unmetered bandwidth. These plans range from 100GB disk space on their entry-level “Basic” plan up to 500GB SSD disk space on their “Strongbolt 5” plan. Unfortunately, they don’t disclose the number of CPUs and RAM that is included in each plan. All these plans come standard with a free SSL certificate, 25x POP/IMAP email accounts, the cPanel control panel, and a 99.9% uptime guarantee, as well as the location of your server, with options being Bulgaria, Holland, Hong Kong, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Russia, or Singapore.

Their VPS plans on the other hand come in various configurations to suit different performance needs, which starts with the “CloudLinux VPS Edge” plan. This plan comes with 5x vCPUs, 10GB RAM, 160GB lightning-fast NVMe Storage, and 1 IPv4 Address for only $37.90 per month. They also offer specialized solutions such as the “FOREX VPS Value” plan, which comes pre-installed with MetaTrader 4/5, 2x vCPUs, and 2GB RAM, and can be located in data centers across Malaysia, Bulgaria, Germany, or the Netherlands for low-latency trading. All VPS plans are self-managed through the SolusVM control panel, includes private hidden DNS, and run on a super-fast network.

Website Builder
Shinjiru includes the Soholaunch Pro Edition, which operates under their "U-BUILD" and "WE-BUILD" options. With “U-BUILD” users get a drag-and-drop tool that lets you build a site without coding, offering a selection of over 354 professional templates and more than 40 widgets to customize your design and content, and with “WE-BUILD”, they handle the whole process. Their plans also include one-click installations for Drupal, WordPress, Geeklog, Joomla, Typo3, Xoops, and Mambo open source, to name just a few.
Security
The only security measures they include on some of their shared hosting plans are DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) attack protection, anti-virus, and anti-spam protection. It is worth noting that their budget plans don’t include DDoS attack protection which is a bit of a concern to be honest.
Luckily their VPS and dedicated servers are a bit more protected with advanced DDoS protection, web application firewalls, Imunify360, and free SSL certificates by Let’s Encrypt.

OS
All their shared hosting plans run on the CentOS operating system, a very secure and stable OS that was built from the source code of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), while their VPS and dedicated servers offer users the choice between CentOS, Fedora, Alma Linux, Debian, Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, VZLinux, Free BSD on Linux-based servers, or Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022, for their Windows-based plans.
Support
If you get stuck with an issue you can reach out to their support agents via support tickets, email, or by live chat. They are available around the clock, but it is worth noting that their live chat option is only available during their business hours, which is 9AM – 6PM Malaysia time.
Their agents are friendly and quick to reply, and you can expect a response within 5 – 10min on tickets.

Conclusion
Shinjiru is an excellent choice for users that value their privacy or those running offshore-hosted projects such as forums or crypto sites. With them one can easily scale from shared hosting right through to VPS and dedicated servers, and they also offer more specialized options like Forex VPS plans. They are great if you are based within Asia, but for users elsewhere they might not be such a good fit. Their live chat isn’t available around the clock and for me personally, their security isn’t up to scratch, especially on their shared hosting plans. All things considered, they are worth a look if you are in the market for a new host.
