First impression

SeFlow is an Italian technology and IT security provider that was founded in 2004. They are based in San Clemente, Italy, and form part of the Aruba group of companies. Their main target market is local businesses and they offer services such as domain registrations, dedicated servers, virtual dedicated servers (VDS), virtual private servers (VPS), fiber internet connectivity, and SSL certificates.

Trial Period

Unfortunately, there aren’t any free trials to take advantage of, so if you were hoping to test their services before committing, you are out of luck. However, they do offer a short 14-day money-back guarantee on all their plans and will refund your money in full if you cancel within this time frame.

Billing Cycle

All SeFlow's plans, whether it be dedicated servers, VDS servers, or VPS servers, all come with two payment options. You can either pay monthly or annually in advance. Unfortunately, annual commitments don't carry any discount.

They currently only accept payments via Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, and bank transfers.

Control Panel

SeFlow offers both the Plesk and DirectAdmin control panels on all their plans, but it is important to note that these panels are not free of charge, but rather paid add-ons that users can select during checkout, or even add them later on through the client area.

Both panels are hugely popular and offered by most providers. Plesk is a powerful, user-friendly control panel that makes WordPress management a breeze, and DirectAdmin, on the other hand, is a lightweight, performance-optimized panel popular for its simplicity and low resource usage, perfect for sysadmins who need fast, no-frills server management.

Limits

Their VPS plans, all standard with unlimited traffic, full root access, and hosted out of their Azerro data center, are available in three scalable options. The VPS-1, their entry-level VPS plan, comes with 2 shared core CPUs (VPS are virtualized environments on shared resources), 2GB RAM, and 20GB SSD disc space, suited for not much more than small projects as I have seen shared hosting plans with better specs than this. Next up is the VPS-2 which features 3 shared core CPUs, 4GB RAM, and 40GB SSD storage space, while their VPS-3, on the top end of the spectrum, boasts 4 shared core CPUs, 8GB RAM, and 80GB SSD disc space. In my opinion still not that powerful, so you would probably need to go for a dedicated server if you have a resource-intensive or large project on hand.

SeFlow's dedicated servers on the other hand come in a wide variety of options that range from 4 Core 3.20GHz Xeon E3 1230 CPUs, 16GB RAM, and 2x 240GB SSD disc drives on the 'QB - 1230' plan, up to 8 Core 2.10 Ghz Xeon Silver 4208 CPUs, 64GB RAM, and 2x 800GB SSD storage drives on the 'QA - 4208.2', their top-tier option. Excellent specs, but it does come at a rather costly monthly premium.

Website Builder

Dedicated website builders are normally only provided by shared hosting providers, and as this provider only offers dedicated servers, virtual dedicated servers (VDS), and virtual private servers (VPS), it doesn't come as a surprise that they don't have a proprietary website builder as part of their product range. Luckily, their VPS and VDS plans come standard with a one-click install of popular content management systems such as WordPress, Joomla, OpenCart, and Drupal, to name just a few, and with these anyone, no matter your coding skill level, can create a professional looking website (even e-commerce sites) quickly and without hassle.

Security

For a provider specializing in servers, SeFlow covers the security basics well. Their data centers are Tier III+ certified, offering enhanced redundancy, reliability, and performance. They are also ISO127001 certified for security, the internationally recognized standard for information security management systems. Furthermore, they offer protection through enterprise-grade DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack protection (up to 9GBps, and custom options up to 100GBps), automated backups (though retention periods are limited to 7-14 days on standard plans) and provides SSL certificate options for encrypted connections - these does come at an extra cost unfortunately. Any protection beyond these is up to you to install yourself.

OS

Their VDS plans offer users the option to choose between Debian, Ubuntu, Almalinux, Windows, CentOS, or RockyLinux as the operating system, while their dedicated server clients can choose between AlmaLinux 8 / 9, Ubuntu 22.04 / 24.04, CentOS 9 Stream, Debian 11 (Bullseye) / 12 (Bookworm), Rocky Linux 9, VMWare ESXi 8.0, or Proxmox VE 8, a powerful, open-source server virtualization platform that combines two key technologies, Virtual Machines (KVM) and Containers (LXC). For Windows-based servers, the options are Windows Server 2019 / 2022/ 2025.

Support

SeFlow’s support is, in my opinion, one of their major strengths. Their agents are available every day, all day via phone, email, or support tickets. Response times were fast, usually under an hour, and they provided thorough, friendly, and professional solutions to all my queries. This has definitely been one of the better hosting support experiences I’ve had. Highly recommended for anyone who values reliable, efficient assistance.

Conclusion

Pros Cons
  • Good Security;
  • Excellent Uptime;
  • Automated Backups.
  • No Free SSL Certificates;
  • No Free Trial Period;
  • Control Panel Costs Extra.

For businesses based in Italy that are after high-performance, self-managed hosting with good security, excellent uptime, and premium support, this is a pretty good pick. However, it’s not the best fit for beginners looking for entry-level hosting options bundled with website builders, and some features that most providers include as standard, such as a control panel or SSL certificate, will cost you extra. Not a bad option at all, but maybe shop around a bit first before signing up.

Alex LService canceled. Access to account cancelled. With no prior email notification. All invoices paid.Request ticket deleted.Highly likely a scam after some changes on their side. Worked for many years before =(Ticket ID: 364327Iulio Lo PiccoloI've been a customers of theirs for 10+ years. They were my favorite dedicated server vendor. However, during the last 2 years, this provider became unreliable. Great prices, but if we talk about performance, help support and transparency, they are the worst. Whenever they are offline, they never inform you about the reasons, or ETAs. The page that should show the real-time state of their network (status.seflow.net) always claims that everything works. Even when their entire network is unreachable. They are experts in denying their technical issues. A couple of months ago they informed all their customers that they were moving their datacenter from one place to another overnight. It took almost 24 hours without notifications, ETA, details. Nothing. Yesterday, for instance, 5 more hours of transit problems and still no notification, no apology, no refund. Bad temper and general unreliability complete the Seflow's offer. We're moving away from this provider. Hope you read this review before buying any service and choose not to trust them from the very beginning.Karl BartleTo be frank i have only ever used seflow for the provision of a dedicated server for a client that needed a dedicated server to run a python app on that i was contracted to produce. For 27 euro a month i purchased an Intel QuadCore I5 2500 with 16GB RAM and a 500GB sata HDD with 100Mbps Unmetered traffic. They server was excellent value for money and performed perfectly. I highly recommend using them based on the price and the performance offered.
