King.Host review

First impression

KingHost is a Brazilian web hosting services provider that was founded in 2006 by serial entrepreneur Juliano Primavesi. They are based in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. They currently host more than 260,000 websites, and offer services such as Shared Hosting, VPS Hosting, Domain Registrations, Email Solutions, and SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

Trial Period

They do not provide a free trial period to test their services, but they do have a 30-day, no quibble, refund policy in place on their Shared Hosting plans. Just sign up and, if you are not satisfied with the service within the initial 30 days, simply cancel your account with them and they will refund your money in full - no questions asked. VPS accounts on the other hand come with a 7-day refund.

Billing Cycle

KingHost Shared Hosting plans allow clients to pay monthly, quarterly, or annually, with discounts of up to 70% for the longest period. Their VPS plans are only available on a monthly and quarterly payment plan, however.

They accept all of the big credit cards, like Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, in addition to bank transfers and PIX payments. PIX is a payment system created by the Central Bank of Brazil that allows payments to be made in under 10 seconds, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including holidays.

Control Panel

KingHost has put efforts into creating its own custom control panel, the KingHost Panel, rather than utilizing popular panels such as cPanel. Their panel is secure, fast, and very easy to use. It's both newbie-friendly and advanced user-friendly, and I personally prefer it over most panels on the market today.

Limits

Their Shared Hosting plans are Accommodation I, Accommodation II, and Accommodation III. Accommodation I offers 256MB RAM, 10GB web space, 5x 10GB POP/IMAP email boxes, and hosting for 1 website. Accommodation II offers 512MB RAM, 16GB web space, 25x 10GB POP/IMAP email boxes, and hosting for 3 websites. Accommodation III offers 1GB RAM, 25GB web space, 100x 10GB email boxes, and hosting for 5 websites. All Shared plans come with a free SSL certificate, website builder, and unlimited MySQL/PostgreSQL 9/MongoDB or Firebird 2.5 databases. 

For VPS clients, several choices are available within Windows and Linux. From 1x vCPU, 1GB RAM, and 50GB ultra-fast SSD disk space in the VPS 1GB package, up to 12x vCPUs, 32GB RAM, and 350GB SSD disk space in the VPS 32GB package. Each VPS package includes a Dedicated IP and full root access. 

Website Builder

KingHost also has its own website builder, the KingHost Website Creator, and this is included free with all the Shared Hosting plans. The builder has a user-friendly interface with hundreds of professionally looking, pre-designed, and completely responsive templates. It is simple for users to customize these templates and create their websites within a matter of minutes, with no coding necessary.

They even provide a free online course on the Website Creator to educate users on how to use its full potential. The course consists of 10 classes in total, which will enable users to turn their projects into reality and revolutionize their company's online business. 

Security

Their infrastructure benefits from highest-level DDoS (distributed denial-of-service) attack protection at the data center management level and a firewall as a protection against potentially malicious internet traffic. Additionally, free Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam software, redundant DNS servers, daily backups, and free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates are included with every account. Additional security is also provided by higher-level SSL certificates from Comodo, GeoTrust, and RapidSSL.

OS

Their Shared Hosting products are Rocky Linux 9 OS-based, with the new launch introducing newer versions of the most popular dynamic programming languages like Node.js 16, Perl 5.32, PHP 8.0, Python 3.9, and Ruby 3.0. VPS products offer users the flexibility to use Rocky Linux 9 OS, OpenSUSE 13, Fedora 24, AlmaLinux 8.4, Debian 9 / 10, and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.

Their 24/7 support staff that speaks English and Portuguese can assist you via Email, Live Chat, WhatsApp, or Phone (free call in Brazil). You'll get quick and respectful responses in near real-time on Live Chat and WhatsApp, and within 30 minutes by Email. They are a pleasure to work with! 

Conclusion

KingHost is an excellent local web host. Their pricing is reasonable, their uptime is good, and they have awesome support. My only complaint is that I hoped they made their Shared Hosting offerings run on high-speed SSD drives as well, but that is minor. Apart from that, it's an excellent option.
