First impression

Gohost is a Kazakh hosting company offering an assortment of services including Domain Registration, SSL Certificates, Shared Hosting, VPS Hosting, and Dedicated Servers. Focusing mainly on the local market since it began operations in 2009, they have become a reliable choice for personal websites, business hosting, and other sites with greater online complexities. Especially noted for its adjustable hosting plans and supportive client services, Gohost accommodates a diverse range of users in Kazakhstan looking for local, secure web services.

Trial Period

This hosting provider gives potential users 30 days absolutely free to try out their Shared Hosting (only with the Shared-1000 package). And also, in case you want to subscribe for a year, they will provide you with 2 months absolutely free on any Shared, Dedicated Servers, or VPS Hosting packages.

Billing Cycle

Gohost offers great flexibility when it comes to billing cycles. If you’re on Shared Hosting, you can pick from monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, or even biennial options, giving you full control over your commitment. Their VPS plans offer choices of monthly, semi-annual, or annual billing, perfect for scaling as you need. Dedicated Server plans get similar versatility, with monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual payment options, and as mentioned before, should you commit for a year you will get 2 months free.

They currently accept payments via Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal, and Crypto Currencies such as BitCoin, LiteCoin, DodgeCoin, and more.

Control Panel

They have some decent control panel options depending on your hosting plan. Shared Hosting comes with the rock-solid Plesk panel to efficiently to manage your sites. The choice between Plesk or ISPManager is provided to VPS customers, while Dedicated Server users has VestaCP as part of their plans. VestaCP is a lightweight, no-nonsense panel with just what you require, perfect in case you want efficiency without frills. It is easy to use, secure, and has everything you require for server management at its fingertips.

Limits

Their Shared Hosting plans all come equipped with high-performance NVMe drives with PCI-E interface, and are available in six scalable plans that range from 2 Core CPUs, 512MB RAM, and 1GB storage space on the Shared-1000 plan, up to a hefty 8 Core CPUs, 2560MB RAM, and 50GB NVMe disc space on the Shared-50000 plan, catering to anything and everything from personal blog websites to mid-range, performance optimized, eCommerce websites. All Shared Hosting plans come standard with unlimited MySQL databases, POP/IMAP email accounts, and SSL certificates by Let’s Encrypt.

On the VPS side, options span from a basic 1 vCPU, 1024MB RAM, 10GB NVMe setup to a top-tier 4 vCPUs, 8GB RAM, and 50GB storage, with customizable configurations also available. All VPS plans include an IPv4 address, full root access, unlimited traffic, and run on a 100+ Mbit/s connection.

Website Builder

They include their own website builder for free in all their Shared Hosting plans. This builder is based on the Site.pro builder, and is a flexible, user-friendly tool that’s perfect for anyone who wants to design their own website without coding skills. Its drag-and-drop interface lets users customize templates, add images, and tweak layouts, so creating a professional-looking site is straightforward. It also includes features like responsive design for mobile devices, SEO optimization tools, and e-commerce functionality if you want to add an online store. Super-easy to work with.

Security

This Kazakh provider has implemented robust security measures to safeguard both infrastructure and client data. Their network includes DDoS protection to fend off attacks, secure traffic, and reduce downtime risks. SSL certificates, including Let’s Encrypt options, ensure encrypted communication and data privacy for hosted sites. Additionally, firewall protection blocks unauthorized access, maintaining server security. These combined layers provide a solid security foundation across all hosting options. That said, complimentary antivirus and anti-spam software would have been a nice add-on.

OS

Gohost provides a great variety of Operating Systems (OS) options, especially on VPS plans. Users can choose between CentOS 7 and 8, various Ubuntu versions (16.04 to 22.04), Debian 10, 11, and 12, plus alternatives like AlmaLinux 8 or 9, RockyLinux 8 or 9, OpenSUSE 15, Fedora 37, and FreeBSD 12 and 13. Shared Hosting comes with either CentOS, AlmaLinux, or Debian, depending on the specific server your plan uses.

Support

They offer a range of support channels should you run into trouble. You can reach their friendly and helpful agents via Email, Phone, Telegram, Live Chat, and through an Online Support Ticket System. For quick guidance, they also maintain a comprehensive help center with FAQs and tutorials. Response times generally depend on the method, Tickets and Phone calls tend to get faster responses than email, while Live Chat is instant. There is absolutely no language barrier, and I can honestly say their agents are a pleasure to deal with.

Conclusion

Pros Cons
  • Blazing-Fast NVMe SSD Storage;
  • Multiple Support Channels;
  • 2 Months Free on Annual Commitments.
  • No Data Center outside Kazakhstan.

If you’re looking for a new web hosting provider in Kazakhstan, Gohost should be on your shortlist. They have a solid infrastructure with NVMe storage and flexible billing, perfect for small to mid-sized businesses, bloggers, and users wanting straightforward, reliable hosting. However, they might not be ideal for eCommerce powerhouses or super large sites.

softmakerI've worked with this provider for two years using PHP, MySQL, and Virtual Hosting, but recently, especially on weekends, the site's pages began taking a long time to open. The message "Too many connections" appears. I couldn't even work with PHPMyAdmin, because of this error. The first time, without telling me anything, they cut off my site. Then they said you need to optimize requests, make a cache of pages or buy vps. Your site, they said, interferes with the work of other sites. I did everything as advised, and we continued to work together. After some time, the same problem appeared again, especially on weekends. I asked what the matter was, they said that there was a client whose website interfered with the work of others, he was turned off, there will be no more problems. Last weekend it's the same story again, the pages open slowly, the error is Too many connections. My site is taken down without a warning and they tell me that the problem is that I need to optimize my site or move to VPS. Then they write, "After receipt of payment, working capacity will be restored immediately!". What is the payment, when I haven't yet passed the renewal date for the original purchase? In addition, how can the problem be from the load from my site, when on weekends my site fails three times? This problem only arises on the weekends! Also, they told me to optimize my site six months ago, and during these six months attendance did not increase - everything worked the same, why did the problem arise just now? There was no response from technical support for a whole day. I left them and moved on to the American hosting company ixwebhosting.com.AlekseyIt's a standard hosting company. I switched to them after using Altynhost. I've been using it since 2011. The price is a little too high, but the quality of technical support makes up for this completely.PavelExcellent hosting.I've never noticed the problems mentioned above in the review, and the support responds quickly enough, and they work with you on payment issues, allowing you to postpone payments if you need to.Many of my friends use their services, they recommended this hosting company to me.
