First impression
Established in 1999, Gabia Inc. is a company that provides internet infrastructure services in South Korea. Its headquarters is situated in the Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do Province. They offer services such as Domain Registrations, Shared Hosting, Dedicated Server Hosting, Virtual Servers, Colocation Hosting, Mail Solutions, and Groupware software, among others. This provider targets small to medium-sized businesses and is listed on the stock market.

Trial Period
If you are planning on making Gabia your new hosting company, keep in mind that there is no free trial on any of its hosting plans. And for refunds, there is no official money-back guarantee in place, but there is some leeway. If you are cancelling in the first week, they will issue a refund, with a 5% cancellation fee (admin fee). So it is not an absolute loss, but it is not quite risk-free by any means.
Billing Cycle
They make it rather flexible when it comes to billing cycles. For shared hosting, you can subscribe for 3 months, 12 months, or 24 months, which is great for paying upfront and then forgetting about it for a while. With their plans for virtual server hosting, though, you have even greater control because you can pay by month or by hour. The hourly payment is great if you want to try something out or need server resources temporarily because then you only have to pay for what you use. It's an inexpensive means and gives you the freedom to freely rescale resources up and down without getting locked into long-term costs.
Gabia now takes all the major credit cards, including Visa and Mastercard, and Bank Transfers as methods of payment.
Control Panel
For shared hosting plans, they provide their in-house control panel, designed to simplify website and email management for users. It's easy to use and it gets the job done though less feature-laden than other industry standards like cPanel or Plesk. With Virtual Servers and Server Hosting plans, there is no pre-installed panel, and you have full root access with liberty to install and configure your preferred panel like cPanel, Plesk, or others at your will. This setup is meant for power users with an appetite for maximum flexibility at the cost of making it difficult for beginners.
Limits
Their Shared Hosting plans, available in both Linux and Windows-based options, come in various tiers. The Basic plan, their entry-level option, includes 1GB of storage, a 1GB MySQL database, 2x 2GB POP/IMAP email accounts, and a 30GB traffic limit, making it suitable only for very small static websites. Next is the Standard plan, which offers 5GB of storage, 5GB of MySQL databases, 5x 5GB POP/IMAP email accounts, and 180GB of traffic. The Premium plan provides 20GB of storage, 10GB of MySQL databases, 5x 5GB POP/IMAP email accounts, and unlimited traffic. They also offer upgraded versions of the Basic and Standard plans, which are slightly more expensive but come with unlimited traffic. It is important to note that the storage is on standard HDDs and not fast SSD drives and the plans don't include a free SSL certificate.

Gabia's Virtual Servers on the other hand come in multiple scalable options that range from 1 vCore CPU, 1GB RAM, and 50GB standard HDD disc space on their starter plan, right up to 32 vCore CPUs, 128GB RAM, and 100GB fast SSD storage on their top-tier option.

Website Builder
This provider includes its own proprietary website builder called "Gabia Site Builder" with its shared hosting plans, designed to simplify website creation for users without coding skills. The tool offers a drag-and-drop interface, customizable templates, and basic SEO tools, making it a convenient option for beginners or small business owners. However, I personally find it quite basic, though it will get the job done. Users can also install a CMS such as WordPress or Joomla if they prefer to build their website using one of those platforms.

Security
Security-wise, Gabia has a very robust setup to keep your hosting environment safe. They have integrated DDoS protection, firewall systems, and constant scanning for vulnerabilities to keep all running smoothly. There is also 24/7 monitoring, biometric security controls, and backup power at their data centers, always a welcome added bonus. There are a couple of holes here, though - they do not include free SSL certificates with their hosting package, a pity as most providers do it. If you need something more in terms of security, like premium SSL certificates or malware scanning, there will be an added charge. It's otherwise an excellent setup, though, and you will have to pay a little more should you need high-end protection.
OS
Gabia offers a range of operating systems tailored to different hosting plans. On their shared hosting plans, they run Linux-based systems, specifically CentOS 7, which is known for its stability and compatibility. For their Virtual Server and Server Hosting plans, users have the flexibility to choose from a variety of Linux options, including CentOS, Ubuntu (versions like 20.04 and 18.04), and Debian. On the Windows side, they include Windows Server options such as 2016 and 2019, depending on the hosting package. This variety ensures that whether you're building a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL & PHP) stack or running Windows-based applications, you’ll probably get an OS that fits your needs.
Support
If you run into trouble and need to get hold of their support agents, you can reach their support team via phone, email, or by submitting a ticket through their online portal. However, you must be registered and verified via both email and phone to submit tickets. For those who prefer a self-service option, they also offer an extensive knowledge base packed with tutorials and FAQs. Phone support is typically the fastest, with responses often immediate during business hours, while email and ticket submissions may take a bit longer—typically around five hours, in my experience. That said, live chat is notably absent, which might disappoint users who prefer instant, real-time assistance. Overall, their support system is reliable, but it leans toward traditional, old-school methods, and there can be a bit of a language barrier to navigate.

|
If you're a small business owner, a beginner dipping your toes into website creation, or someone running a modest site, Gabia’s shared hosting with its site builder and decent resource allocations will probably meet your needs. They’ve got solid infrastructure, decent support (though a bit old-school), and a local focus that’s great for those targeting Korean audiences. But, if you're a tech-savvy developer looking for advanced features, flexibility, or real-time support like live chat, Gabia might fall short. They are dependable, but not designed for those who want cutting-edge hosting or global scalability.
