First impression
WhoGoHost, formerly known as GO54, is a Nigerian web hosting services provider that was founded in 2007 by Opeyemi Awoyemi while studying at the Obafemi Awolowo University. He initially ran a web design company and needed to offer hosting to his clients, and that is how WhoGoHost was born. They are currently owned by HostAfrica, and are the biggest web hosting provider in the country, offering services such as domain registrations, shared hosting, VPS hosting, and email solutions.

Trial Period
Unlike some providers that let you test the waters before you sign up, WhoGoHost requires your full commitment from the start, as there are no free trial periods on any of their plans. They do, however, have a refund policy in place. To be eligible for a full refund, your plan on annual signup must be cancelled within 30 days, but on monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual web hosting plans, this time frame shrinks to only 72 hours after you made the purchase.
Billing Cycle
With WhoGoHost's shared hosting and VPS plans, you've got flexible billing options. You can either pay month-to-month, every six months, or commit for a full year, and if you commit to a full year on their shared hosting, they'll knock 20% off your bill.
For payments, they accept most major credit cards, like Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diner's Club, and EnRoute credit cards using the PayPal gateway, as well as payments through Flutterwave, Paystack, and Klump.
Control Panel
WhoGoHost includes the cPanel control panel with all their shared and VPS hosting plans, giving you that familiar, user-friendly dashboard to manage websites, emails, and databases without fuss. But if you're on shared hosting and prefer something different, they’ve got an option to swap cPanel for DirectAdmin, for an additional monthly fee. It’s handy if you want a leaner interface or have specific admin preferences, though most users stick with cPanel since it’s already included and packed with features - it is the industry favorite after all. Either way, you’re covered with decent control panel choices.
Limits
Their shared hosting plans, which run in a shared resources environment, come in four scalable options to choose from. The Premium, their entry-level plan, starts things off with 1GB RAM, 8GB SSD disc space, 30GB bandwidth, and 10 sub-domains, suitable for not much more than basic websites. Next up is the Pro plan, which features 1GB RAM, 15GB SSD storage space, a 45GB traffic limit, and 15 sub-domains. The Deluxe plan is the first one that is suited more for e-commerce sites, in my opinion, as it comes with 1GB RAM, 30GB SSD disc space, 60GB bandwidth, and 20 sub-domains. Lastly, there is the Supreme plan, which boasts 1GB RAM, 120GB SSD storage, 150GB traffic, and 40 sub-domains. All shared hosting plans come standard with a complimentary DV SSL certificate, unlimited POP/IMAP email accounts, and unlimited MySQL databases.

For users looking at their VPS servers, WhoGoHost provides six options available in both Linux and Windows configurations, ranging from the C1 Server with 1 vCore CPU, 1GB ECC RAM and 20GB SSD storage up to the high-end C9 Server offering 16 vCore CPUs, 64GB ECC RAM and 500GB SSD storage - all VPS plans include unlimited traffic and one static IPv4 address.

Website Builder
While their website currently doesn’t mention a site builder (as of this writing), their support team confirmed they offer the Go54 website builder for an extra monthly fee. This in-house developed tool packs a clean drag-and-drop interface, which is surprisingly intuitive, even for beginners. You’ll find mobile-friendly templates covering everything from coffee shops to corporate services. Just customize colors, swap images, tweak text, and hit publish - no tech skills required. It’s not as powerful as full CMS platforms, but it's perfect for getting a professional-looking site up fast.

Security
The security WhoGoHost offers on their shared hosting is basic to say the least, as their only freebie is a basic SSL certificate, leaving you to handle other protections yourself. But their VPS plans actually pack some decent security muscle at no extra cost. You’ll get firewall protection to filter shady traffic, DDoS mitigation to block brute-force attacks, and the option to install free SSL certificates (such as Let’s Encrypt). Root access lets you lock things down further with custom tools, while isolated environments ensure your server isn't affected by others on the same physical machine should they get breached. They even throw in SSH key logins (way safer than passwords) and regular backups, though you’ll want to check how often those actually run. It’s a night-and-day difference from their shared hosting’s barebones approach.
OS
This Nigerian provider utilizes the CloudLinux operating system (OS), a specialized operating system designed to enhance stability, security, and efficiency in shared hosting environments, on all their shared hosting plans, while VPS users will get to choose between Ubuntu, Debian, and AlmaLinux for Linux-based plans, and Windows server 2016, 2019, and 2019 on Windows-based servers. Not the biggest variety I have ever seen, but it should be sufficient for most.
Support
If you get stuck - and we all do from time to time - you can reach their helpful support agents via live chat from 7 am to 11 pm daily (GMT+1), or log tickets from their GO54 dashboard. Response times on tickets are roughly 2 hours, while you can expect to wait about 5 minutes on live chat for an agent to become available. Decent support, although I would have liked to have the option to phone them too, as some issues require urgent assistance.

WhoGoHost is a solid choice for Nigerian businesses and individuals who need reliable, locally hosted websites at an affordable price. Their shared hosting plans work well for bloggers, small business sites, or anyone who wants cPanel simplicity, good uptime, free SSL certificates, and unlimited email accounts. However, the included security features may not be enough for some users—in my opinion, they’re a bit basic. While it's a great budget hosting for the Nigerian market, power users or global brands might want to explore other options with more advanced protections.
