WebHost1 is a Russia Moscow web hosting firm. It was established in 2008. It is managed by CEO Dmitriy Podelko. It hosts more than 150,000 domains. They have servers in Russia, Moldova, Israel, the USA, and the Netherlands. They offer domain registration, shared hosting, VPS/VDS hosting, and dedicated servers.

Trial Period

WebHost1 offers a 30-day free trial for their Shared Hosting packages for clients to test the service risk-free. For their VPS (Virtual Private Server) and VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server) packages, they offer a 30-day money-back guarantee instead of a free trial. They also offer you the first 2 months free when you move your VDS/VPS service from another host.

Billing Cycle

Their Shared Hosting plans offer the customers the choice of paying monthly, half-yearly, annually, or biennially, whereas VPS/VDS plans offer signup monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or annually. Customers opting for longer terms receive up to 15% and 25% discounts on Shared Hosting and VDS/VPS plans, respectively.

They currently accept payments via Visa, Mastercard, MIR/UnionPay, SberPay, SBP, and Bank Transfers.

Control Panel

WebHost1 hosts their Shared Hosting packages on the ISPmanager control panel. It is a Linux control panel through which you can manage your hosting space and website from an easy-to-use interface. It is adequately loaded with features to manage databases, email accounts, SSL certificates, one-click CMS installation of well-known CMS such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, and more, and a graphical code editor.

VPS and VDS packages, however, do offer full root access so that you may install a control panel of your choice, you may also have FastPanel or CloudPanel installed by their techs for free.

Limits

Their Shared Hosting plans, all on lightning-fast NVMe drives quicker than normal HDDs, with read/write speeds of up to 1100 MB/s and up to 500,000 IOPS, are offered in 6 flexible and affordable packages. From their NVME 15 GB plan, with 15GB of NVMe disk space and 768MB of RAM, to their most sophisticated VIP 90 GB plan, ideal for high-traffic websites such as e-commerce, with 90GB of NVMe disk space and 2048MB of RAM. They even provide a custom plan where you can define your storage needs, from 120GB up to a maximum of 200GB.

All of the above plans feature a free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate, unlimited sites, POP/IMAP email accounts, bandwidth, FTP accounts, and MySQL 8 databases.

Their VPS plans provide clients with the option to build their own servers using the 'RU NVME Constructor', a feature that enables you to select your preferred CPU power, RAM, and disk storage. Alternatively, clients can select pre-packaged options such as the RU NVME 20 plan (their VPS low-end plan), which provides 1x 2.5 GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, and 20GB of NVMe disk space, or the 'RU NVME 100' plan (their VPS high-end plan), which provides 6x 2.5 GHz CPUs, 8GB RAM, and 100GB of NVMe disk space. In addition to this, clients have the option of using NVMe drives or standard SSD drives, which are a bit cheaper, and the option of placing their servers in Russia, Moldova, Israel, the USA, or the Netherlands.

The builder offers over 190 fully responsive and professional templates that you can easily customize according to your desire. It also offers a variety of elements such as feedback forms, image galleries, videos, shopping carts, payment gateways, social network buttons, and lots more. You have no restriction on how many sites you'd want to build.

Security

Aside from network firewall and free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates (which have paid options from GlobalSign available as well), they offer DDoS (distributed denial-of-service) protection against TCP/SYN/UDP/DNS/ICMP/HTTP attacks, as well as some undefined security features that are probably aimed at securing their infrastructure. Aside from these services, however, users are largely on their own and will be required to install their own protection software. Alternatively, users can opt to pay for BitNinja as an additional monthly service, which is protection against port scanning, password brute force hacking, SQL injection, DOS attacks, CMS hacking, Spam, XSS attacks, malicious infection, and so on. Personally, I would have preferred that basic features like Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam software be included in the package for no extra fee.

OS

Their Shared Hosting plans are centered around CentOS, which is one of the well-known platforms among web hosting providers. If you go with VPS plans, you can have CentOS 8 Stream, Debian 11, FreeBSD 13, Ubuntu 20.04, or Windows Server. As noted above in this review, you do have root access in VPS plans, and as such, you can install your preferred OS with an ISO image.

Support

Their customer support is superb, going the extra mile to assist users. Their friendly and helpful technical representatives can be reached by Phone, a Ticketing System, Live Chat, Email, Telegram, and VKontakte, a Russian social network equivalent to Facebook. Their response time is superb, with tickets responded to usually in a minute or two, email within an hour, and live chat response virtually instantaneously.

Conclusion

WebHost1 is an excellent option if you are just starting out or an old pro at web hosting. They have a good reputation for uptime, are cheap, and use high-quality hardware. It would be nice if they offered more security features, but you can always tack that on if you feel you require it. Otherwise, a good option.
