Sered is a web hosting services provider that was founded in 2009 in Ourense, Galicia, Spain.They offer a wide range of services such as Shared Hosting, VCS (Virtual Cloud Server) Hosting, Elastic Hosting (a sort of hosting which allows for flexible scaling of resources such as CPU, memory, and traffic based on your website's actual needs), and Domain Registrations. Their data centers are based in Barcelona, Madrid, and Talavera de la Reina.

Trial Period

They don’t provide any free trials of any kind, but they do have a 30-day money-back guarantee in place on their shared hosting plans. If you are unhappy with their services within the first month, simply cancel your plan with them for a full refund.

It's important to mention that licenses such as cPanel, Nginx, CloudLinux, LiteSpeed, as well as SSL certificates and Dedicated IP addresses are not covered by this policy.

Billing Cycle

They offer flexible payment plans where clients may opt for monthly, annual, bi-annual, or three-yearly payment agreements. The longer the contract period, the greater the discount.

Limits

Their Shared Hosting packages, such as free SSL certificates and daily backups, which are stored for 7 days, provide customers with a range of options, starting with the Mini Plan, which comes with 5GB Standard SSD disk space and 3 POP/IMAP email accounts. On the other end of the scale, the Elastic Hosting 3 package comes with 150GB ultra-fast NVMe disk space, 14x VCPUs, 8GB RAM, unlimited inodes, MySQL databases, and traffic. (The Elastic packages are their equivalent of VPS Hosting).

All of the plans except the Mini plan, which is a bare-bones web builder plan, are hosted on LiteSpeed Web Servers with LSCache, a sophisticated cache-management feature.

The Elastic Hosting plans are scalable to the highest extent, however, and can be customized to suit particular requirements. Users can scale up or scale down resources as required, with billing based on actual resources consumed.

Website Builder

Sered also features its own custom, easy-to-use, and intuitive website creation tool, available at an additional monthly cost. The tool comes with an extensive library of premium and fully responsive easy-to-edit templates, in-built SEO optimization, e-commerce integration, and more. Suitable for newbie and advanced professionals alike. 

Security

Sered hosting plans incorporate robust security with Advanced Firewall by Immunify360, Web Applications Firewall (WAF), and Proactive Defense that automatically checks for widespread viruses, malicious network connections, and web shell connections. They also employ Hardened PHP for safe hosting of vintage PHP versions, Brute Force Attack Protection for password and credential hack protection, Virus and Malware scanning, Direct Link Protection, and CageFS that isolates each customer for privacy.

On top of that, they also have a Security Audit service at an additional cost whereby they test for Auth Bypass / Directory Traversal, Remote Code Execution / Remote File Include, SQL Injection, Cross Site Scripting, Arbitrary File Upload, Data Leaks, Cross Site Requests, Forgery, HTML Injection, and others.

OS

They utilize CloudLinux across all their hosting plans. This operating system tries to make the shared hosting hosts more stable and secure by isolating each customer in their individual private "Lightweight Virtualized Environment" (LVE). This segregation and limitation of server resources, such as memory, CPU, and number of concurrent connections, for each web hosting tenant, assist in allowing a more limited and secure operating system.

Support

Technical support comes in the form of Live Chat, Phone, Email, or a Ticketing System that is available around the clock, 365 days a year. Their agents are well trained and give one the impression that you matter as they are friendly, professional, and eager to resolve your issues. One drawback however is that their Live Chat doesn't have the option to switch to English, so if you are unfamiliar with Spanish you are better off just contacting them via email. Emails luckily get answered quickly, I have put them to the test multiple times and got assisted within 5 minutes every time.
