First impression

G2K Hosting is a privately owned Argentine organization that offers several web hosting solutions like Cloud Hosting, Cloud Servers, Dedicated Servers, Email Marketing, and Co-Location Services. Founded in 2002 and located in San Nicolás, Buenos Aires, Argentina, they boast having top-of-the-line data center infrastructure, with room to house over 6,000 servers. Their data center is built to the highest levels of quality, offering safe and reliable hosting solutions to their clients.

Trial Period

If you are checking out G2K Hosting’s Cloud Hosting plans, don’t anticipate a free trial, because they don’t offer one. They do, though, offer you a little lifeline with regard to their Cloud Servers by offering a trial of limited 3 days. They also do not offer a money-back guarantee for their services. According to their terms and conditions, all sales are final, and refunds are not given once a service has been purchased. So, it is highly essential to make the most of this trial period, to thoroughly test their services, before you enter into a long-term agreement.

Billing Cycle

With this provider, Shared Hosting users are able to pay on a monthly basis, annually, or even dedicate their plan for five or two years if they want to go for the long run and wish to save a little bit of money. Their cloud server packages only offer the choices of monthly and yearly payment, however.

They currently accept payment by bank transfer, PayPal, or Mercado Pag, which is a Latin American payment platform that allows customers to pay using multiple options like Visa, Mastercard, and Net Province Payments.

Control Panel

They also have Ubuntu-running plans, but these do not come with a control panel. Rather, they provide you with full root access, where you can install your own preferred panel. StackCP is famous for being easy to design and use, where web hosting management becomes a breeze. Unlike other old panels, StackCP is built around having easy-to-use tools and simplified options for actions such as domain administration, email setup, and file handling. It's also highly responsive, where hosting services are easy to manage across devices.

Their Shared Hosting plans don’t come with any control panel, however, which is a little restrictive for users who’re accustomed to having one. What you’re stuck with instead is the need to phone their support team to manage setup or maintenance tasks. I myself am not a huge fan of this approach.

Limits

Their Cloud Hosting can be availed in three variants, i.e., Professional, Advanced, and Premium. The Professional variant offers 40GB disk space, 1 MySQL database, and supports one website. The Advanced variant offers 70GB storage space, 1 MySQL database, and 50 POP/IMAP email accounts. Finally, the Premium variant offers 150GB disk space, 5 MySQL databases, hosting for 2 websites, free.com domain registration, and unlimited POP/IMAP email accounts - an ideal option for a medium-sized business website.

These Cloud Hosting plans are Server Virtualization technology-based, where storage, processing, and memory resources are pooled from a network of interconnected virtualized servers to create what we commonly refer to as the cloud. Resources are dynamically allocated and managed to address the specific needs of each business or user. Surprisingly, however, these plans still use traditional HDDs rather than faster SSD storage drives.

G2K Cloud Servers, on the other hand, offer three scalable plans, starting with the Cloud Server 1 package that comes with 1 vCPU, 2GB RAM, and 40GB disk space and ending with the Cloud Server 3 package that comes with 4 vCPUs, 8GB RAM, and 100GB disk space. You can also create your own plan by selecting your preferred CPUs, RAM, storage, bandwidth, and so on.

Website Builder

With their Cloud Hosting options, G2K Hosting offers the SiteBuilder site builder. If you've previously worked with this builder, you'd know how easy it is, especially if you don't feel like getting into the hassle of coding. SiteBuilder is all about user-friendliness - it's renowned for its drag-and-drop method, meaning you can build a professional site without ever having to touch a line of code. You can choose from a variety of templates, change layouts, and even add-on functions such as contact forms or image galleries with a few easy clicks. If you're creating a personal blog, a small business site, or an online portfolio, SiteBuilder lets you get going quickly without needing to hire a coder.

Security

In my experience, G2K Hosting has a good security policy on their infrastructure and hosting packages. They have firewalls, DDoS protection, and periodic data backup to keep things up and your data safe. Also, their servers are located in secure data centers with controlled access, so you can rest assured that they’re not compromising on physical security. That said, I did notice some weaknesses - they don’t include advanced features like malware scanning or site security tools as part of the package. If you need those add-ons, they do have add-on services for things like SSL certificates and other security features, but it will cost more. So, while they’ve got a good starting point on security, you might need to shell out a little more if your project demands higher levels of protection.

OS

G2K Hosting shared hosting plans come with the stable Ubuntu operating system by default, and for good reason, with its history of stability and security—two essentials for shared hosting. Ubuntu is a good performer in shared hosting environments because it’s lightweight, easy to manage, and has a strong community following. Its efficiency offers glitch-free performance for hosting a myriad of sites, while its security features offer peace of mind that things will run securely in the background. Starting small or growing, Ubuntu’s versatility makes it a good bet. If you’re jumping into their Cloud Server plans, you’ve got a bit more room to choose, with the options being Debian, Rocky Linux (which, as I’ve mentioned, is the only one offered with the easy-to-use StackCP control panel), or even Windows Server from 2012 to 2022 versions.

Support

They offer a few support channels in order to assist their customers, including email support, phone support (only if you have a Premium plan), a live chat feature, and a ticket system. My live chat experience with them is an absolute no-go - you may wait until cows come home and still not be answered. In the case of more in-depth or complex issues, the ticket system is best. For myself, email support was preferred method; their representatives replied in a pleasant, informative manner. You must, however, remember that such responses can take up to 24 hours. If you need instant support, the best idea would be to upgrade to a Premium plan since this gives the option of using phone support.

Conclusion

Pros Cons
  • Budget Friendly;
  • 3 Day Trial On Cloud Servers.
  • No Money Back Guarantee;
  • No SSD Storage;
  • Below Average Support;
  • No Free SSL Certificates.

G2K Hosting is a bit of a mixed bag, so whether or not it’s right for you really depends on what you’re seeking. If you’re a small business or individual seeking a low-cost option with bare-bones hosting plans, it might be for you—especially if you don’t mind a bit more hands-on troubleshooting and setup effort. Their Cloud Hosting plans include handy features like scalable resources and the SiteBuilder tool, which makes it easy for non-technical users to get a site up and running. But if you’re a person who needs responsive, quick support or more advanced features like SSD storage or control panel on all plans, you might find it a bit lacking. It’s also not your best choice if you have high-performance or enterprise-level plans in mind where uptime and speed are absolutely paramount.
