First impression
EdgeUno is a technology company that was founded by Mehmet Akcin, an ex-Microsoft, Yahoo, and ICANN employee, in 2018. They are based in Columbia and offer a range of services such as cloud computing, CDN networks, managed hosting, and cloud hosting to name a few. They currently operate over 50 data centers in Latin America and has a point of presence in Miami, Florida, USA, and Uberlândia, Brazil.

Trial Period
If you were hoping to try out their services before you sign up, you are out of luck. They don’t offer any free trials, nor do they have a money-back guarantee in place.
Billing Cycle
If we look at EdgeUno’s billing options for their Bare Metal Server and Cloud VPS offerings, it’s clear that they have designed their offerings with flexibility in mind. They offer monthly billing, ideal if you prefer shorter commitments or you need to scale resources regularly, alongside annual billing - ideal if you prefer to lock your services in for the long haul and save a little cash.
They now take payment via all the major credit cards and PayPal.
Control Panel
From my interactions with their support team, and based on information available, EdgeUno does not offer control panels such as cPanel or Plesk in their Cloud VPS or Bare Metal server offerings. Their offerings are designed to offer flexible and scalable solutions, and they offer users independent and customized control over their cloud resources. This gives customers complete control over the configuration and management of their virtual environments, with maximum possible flexibility and efficiency for their web projects and applications. This also implies, however, that users are on their own to manage and maintain their virtual environments according to their respective requirements, which can include installing and configuring any desired control panels themselves.
Limits
Their Cloud VPS offerings offer five tiered options, as well as the choice of being able to custom-make your own server by specifying how many vCPUs, RAM, and SSD storage you need. Their entry-level VPS plan, the Micro, comes with 1 vCPU, 1GB RAM, 20GB SSD storage, and 500GB of traffic. At the other end of the spectrum, their largest VPS plan, the X-Large, comes with 16 vCPUs, 16GB RAM, 600GB SSD storage, and an astonishing 10TB of traffic.

EdgeUno Bare Metal Server plans, though, offer eight. These go from the BM-E5-2640 plan, 2x Intel Xeon E5-2640 v3 2.6GHz CPUs, 64GB RAM, and 2x 1.6TB SSD storage drives, to the BM-SILVER-4215R plan, 2x Intel Xeon Silver 4215R 3.2GHz CPUs, 48GB RAM, and 2x 1.6TB SSD storage drives.

Website Builder
They don't provide a built-in website builder as part of their services. They focus more on connectivity, edge computing, and cloud computing. Should you wish to develop a website upon using their products, you might have to implement third-party content management systems like WordPress, and third-party website builder applications, which can be installed on their hosting platforms.
Security
Security is a major focus for EdgeUno throughout its infrastructure and hosting services. Its cloud infrastructure is secure and highly available, offering deployable, scalable, and instantly manageable resources. Its PaaS for SAP Business One also offers high-level security with strong firewalls and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) for Windows servers, protecting sensitive data and critical systems. Although in-depth details of other security features are not made publicly available, EdgeUno's collaboration with Quad9, a global public recursive DNS resolver, for improved security against malware and phishing attacks, strengthens DNS security services in Latin America.
Even so, there is no explicit statement of some of the security components like DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack protection or Web Application Firewalls (WAF) within their standard packages. However, given the services they offer, and what they already have, I highly believe DDoS and WAFs are not included.
OS
I'm also impressed by the variety they offer for Cloud VPS plans. You can choose AlmaLinux 8 or 9, CentOS 7 through 9, Oracle 9, Debian 10, 11, or 12, FreeBSD 12 or 13, OpenBSD 7, Rocky Linux 8 or 9, Ubuntu from 18.04 to 24.04, or Suse Linux Enterprise 15. That’s a lot of choice for customizing your environment to your specific needs! On the Bare Metal Server side, the choices are not as big but still viable, with CentOS 7 or 8, Debian 10 or 11, Ubuntu 18.04 or 20.04, or even something called XYZ Boot. Now, XYZ Boot caught my eye because it's a web-based booting service for booting alternate operating systems directly from the network. It’s an extremely flexible choice if you're dealing with quirky configurations or test environments.

Support
Should you run into trouble and need assistance, you can contact EdgeUno's support team through email, a ticketing system, or even direct phone support, depending on the urgency of your issue. From my experience, the ticketing system seems to be your best bet for more technical or detailed inquiries, with response times typically within 24 hours. Their email support also offers a straightforward way to get assistance, though it might not be the fastest option for time-sensitive matters - email responses took well over a day for me! If you're after quicker responses, their phone support is a good option, particularly for customers with immediate needs. However, I didn't come across any live chat feature, which could have been a nice touch for instant help. Overall, their agents are helpful and get the job done, but one should be aware that there is a slight language barrier.

When it comes to EdgeUno, whether they're a good hosting option for you depends on your requirements. If you're a business or developer looking for scalable cloud hosting with robust customization capabilities, EdgeUno is the path to take. They offer a lot of Cloud VPS and Bare Metal Server plans that deliver, and the ability to support a range of operating systems is a huge plus for users who require flexibility. But they're not for everyone. If you're a beginner user looking for an easy experience with amenities like a website builder or free control panels like cPanel or Plesk, EdgeUno might be too much work because you'll have to do much of the setup yourself. And with no money-back guarantee or free trial, this isn't the best option if you want to “try before you buy.” But if you know precisely what you're looking for and want performance over convenience, EdgeUno is certainly worth a glance.
