First impression

It looks like the company is quite new as there is not much information on the website. Though, it is constantly being updated. At the moment, the website is not very comfortable as different packages are displayed in the header and footer of the home page. Also, some buttons are not working.

The company provides cloud hosting and Cloud IaaS (Infrastructure as a System). The packages are a bit more expensive than regular Shared and VPS one but they are more scalable and secure. Moreover, it is possible to choose the server location for all of the packages. They include but are not limited to USA, Germany, Austria, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, etc.

Trial period

The company does not offer a trial period, however, it is possible to get a full refund for any package within 7 days after the purchase.

Billing cycle

All of the packages have monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual billing cycles.

Control panel

For Managed cPanel and Plesk hosting the company provides cPanel and Plesk Onyx accordingly. Paid cPanel and Plesk are available for Cloud Iaas and Managed VPS packages. As for Manager WordPress hosting, Cloudean does not offer a control panel for these packages. They only provide SFTP/SSH access for file and database management. They are planning to release the control panel in several months.

Limits

The limits are indicated in the plan description for almost all packages, except Cloud IaaS. Nevertheless, all packages are scalable and you can easily order more resources during checkout. There are also standard content limitations such as prohibition of sending spam emails or distributing malicious software. They are described in the ToS (Terms of Services).

Security

Plesk and cPanel Managed hosting packages include a malware scanner Immunify and monitoring service with a 60 minute interval. You can also choose to add DDoS protected Anycast DNS or CloudFlare CDN+Railgun bundle for free. It’s also possible to purchase Sucuri web application firewall and CDN during checkout.

Managed WordPress packages include all of the above mentioned security features, except the malware scanner. Cloud IaaS packages include 50 Gb of free snapshot backup storage. It is also possible to purchase Immunify and Sucuri WAF/CDN at an additional cost for these packages.

OS

It is possible to install CentOS or CloudLinux for Managed cPanel packages. Ubuntu and CloudLinux are available for Managed Plesk hosting. Ubuntu runs on Managed WordPress servers. For Cloud IaaS packages it is possible to install CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, FreeBSD, Windows Server and Red Hat.

Support

The company provides 24/7 chat and ticket support. The representatives are polite, accurate and very proactive. The knowledge base does not contain any articles at the moment.

Conclusion

Cloudean is a newly-established and growing company. The website is not very comfortable but hopefully this will improve shortly. Generally, the packages have rather nice characteristics and the prices are not that high. Their biggest advantage is their scalability and security. Nevertheless, it is hard to evaluate the quality of the services as the website does not contain much information (but it is constantly being added).
