First impression

The website design looks outdated. Also, it is overloaded with text, so it is hard to locate the required information. There are 10 Shared hosting packages. They are divided into Simple, Optimal, Profi and Business. The packages are highly overpriced. For instance, for $17 you get only 12,5Gb disk space, up to 128Mb RAM, 12 domain names and 4Gb for databases (out of 12.5Gb total).

VDS OpenVZ servers are rather old but cheap. As for VDS Hyper-V both Linux and Windows, they are rather overpriced, however, the configurations are very flexible. In addition, the company provides up to 12 months of free VDS for startups per request.

Dedicated servers are divided into two categories: datacenter and dedicated. The first ones are quite expensive, however, 1Gb offers cloud storage instead of physical disk space. It means that all of your data is backed up in a cloud and in case any issues occur, your data is safe. In addition, they provide a lot of RAM and all of the processors are new. The prices vary from $176 to $987 per month. The ‘regular’ dedicated servers have nice configurations as well and competitive prices: from $44 to $85 per month.

Trial period

The company provides 10-day trial for all Shared and VPS/VDS hosting packages. Also, it is possible to request a test period for Dedicated servers by contacting the support team at support@1gb.ru.

Billing cycle

Shared hosting packages, except the first one, can be purchased for 1, 3, 6 months and for 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 years. The first one can be purchased only for a year. Hyper-V VDS (Windows or Linux) plans have the same billing cycles as Shared. It’s possible to buy VDS OpenVZ hosting packages for 1, 3, 6 months and 1 or 2 years; Dedicated servers - for 1, 3, 6 months and for 1, 2, 3 or 5 years.

Control panel

The company provides their own control panel called ‘1Gb panel’ for all Shared and VDS Linux hosting packages for free. Also, for VDS OpenVZ ISPmanager is provided. Dedicated servers support any kind of control panel depending on the OS that you install.

Limits

Usual disk space, RAM, CPU cores are applicable for VDS and Dedicated hosting packages. As for Shared hosting, number of email accounts, domain names and MySQL databases are limited as well. All of this information is indicated in the plan description.

Security

Basic anti-DDoS protection and spam filters are included to each package. Also, you can purchase additional anti-DDoS protection. All other security features are under your responsibility. Backups are created every day for Shared hosting packages for free. For VDS OpenVZ they are also free, however, they are created once in 3-5 days. Backups are paid for other VDS packages. They’re made once a week.

OS

Gentoo runs on Linux Shared servers and Windows Server 2016 on Windows Shared ones. For OpenVZ VPS Gentoo or Ubuntu can be installed. For Windows and Linux VDS servers the following operating systems are available: Windows Server 2003-2016, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, FreeBSD or OpenSUSE. As for Dedicated servers, any desired OS can be installed.

Support

The company provides 24/7 phone, chat and ticket support. It is also possible to communicate via Skype calls or ICQ. The representatives are quick but not very accurate. It is hard to get a straight answer and detailed information from the representatives. Nevertheless, the knowledge base is full, accurate and covers all topics. Moreover, for each hosting plan you can purchase additional technical support. In this case you have full access to your account but the support team helps you with all of the issues, provides monitoring, fixes minor issues etc. Alternatively, there is a possibility to buy fully-managed packages. You will not have full access to your account. The support team will configure and monitor everything for you (except web-designing). The prices vary between $15 and $75 or more per month.

Conclusion

The Shared and VPS hosting packages are more expensive in comparison to other hosting providers. However, the quality does not fully match the price. Moreover, the support team is not very eager to help. Nevertheless, Dedicated servers are at a high level, despite of the high price. The company uses cloud storage for them which a rare thing. So, it seems like only the latter packages are worth attention.

PavelMy opinion is very positive. I was pleasantly surprised by the ability to monitor most processes. Hoster is flexible with small payment delays (a slight delay is possible by mail or by phone). It is convenient to renew your account.
