Ultahost VPS Review 2025
One thing is for certain, the world of VPS hosting is crowded, and that’s putting it mildly! You have the big-name managed service providers that hold your hand with literally everything - but it comes at a pretty penny, and then you've got the bare-metal, unmanaged options that demand you be a part-time sysadmin, where the onus is on you to make sure updates are done and security is in place. I was intrigued when I first heard about Ultahost, a provider that seems to position itself squarely in the middle, promising performance and features galore, but without the intimidating price tag that some providers charge. I decided it was time to look behind their marketing and see what their Ultahost VPS offering is truly about in 2025.
Recently, I have had the opportunity to test their plans and infrastructure. I looked at everything from the Ultahost VPS pricing structure, right through to their performance, support, and, the more often than not, overlooked fine print. This VPS hosting review will reveal if Ultahost VPS plans are the hidden gem it claims to be, or are you better off with a more established name?

Ultahost VPS Plans Overview
When you look at their VPS plans, you will immediately notice that Ultahost VPS hosting plans come in both Linux and Windows options, which immediately separates them from providers who cater exclusively to the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack crowd. All plans come standard with a 100% uptime guarantee, free SSL certificates, real-time snapshot recovery, DDoS protection, and run on blazing-fast NVMe SSD drives. It is worth noting that Ultahost Windows VPS pricing is much more costly due to the server licenses that need to be purchased, and there's also an Ultahost free trial VPS option one can take advantage of. So, let’s take a look at what each of their plans includes:

Basic Plan – Suited for Newbies
This is the starting point for Ultahost’s VPS plans, and it is aggressively priced at a mere $4.80 per month. It is truly a budget option that almost seems too good to be true. It is absolutely perfect for a small blog, a development sandbox, or even a low-traffic business site, but one needs to note that this is their only plan that doesn’t come standard with DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack protection. It includes the following:
- 1 CPU Core;
- 1GB DDR5 RAM;
- 30GB NVMe SSD Disk Space;
- 1x IPv4 Dedicated IP Address;
- 4x IPv6 Dedicated IP Addresses.
Business Plan - Their Mid-Tier Powerhouse
This is where Ultahost VPS hosting starts to get interesting for small to medium-sized businesses. Stepping up from their entry-level VPS option, you'll find this plan comes with double the CPU power and memory, and significantly more NVMe storage. This plan comes in at $8.40 per month and includes enough resources to handle a respectable e-commerce store or a busy membership site without trouble. This plan includes:
- 2 CPU Cores;
- 2GB DDR5 RAM DDR5;
- 50GB NVMe SSD Storage Space;
- x1 IPv4 Dedicated IP Address;
- Unlimited Bandwidth;
- 6x IPv6 Dedicated IP Addresses;
- DDoS Protection.
Professional Plan – More Resources for Bigger Projects
With this plan, the price jumps significantly, but so do the specs. It will cost you $13.80 per month and is suitable for larger, resource-intensive websites and advanced applications. This option includes:
- 3 CPU Cores;
- 4GB DDR5 RAM;
- 75GB NVMe SSD Disk Space;
- 1x IPv4 Dedicated IP Address;
- Unlimited Bandwidth;
- 8x IPv6 Dedicated IP Addresses;
- DDoS Protection.
Enterprise Plan – Their Top-Tier VPS Option
This plan comes with the maximum amount of resources allocated before users need to upgrade to VDS plans (Virtual Dedicated Server). Although it packs a lot more punch, it is rather expensive compared to the previous options. It will cost you $17.99 per month and includes:
- 4 CPU Cores;
- 6GB DDR5 RAM;
- 100GB NVMe SSD Storage;
- 1x IPv4 Dedicated IP Address;
- Unlimited Bandwidth;
- 8x IPv6 Dedicated IP Addresses;
- DDoS Protection.
The Purchase and Registration Process
Getting your VPS plan with Ultahost up and running is a quick and hassle-free process. Simply navigate to their home page (www.ultahost.com) and hover over the “Hosting” tab in the top main menu. A dropdown menu will then be displayed, where you then click on “VPS Hosting”. It will then display all the plans, as well as what is included in each. After making your choice, click on “Order”. The next page will ask you to choose the billing cycle (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, biennially, or triennially), as well as the server location, operating system, and any extras you would like to add. The right-hand side will display the price, and if you are happy with it, click “Continue”. The last page will ask you for your personal details and payment method. To complete all these steps shouldn’t take you longer than 5 minutes.

Security
As all their VPS server plans are fully managed, it shifts the technical burden from you to them. They are responsible for the backend infrastructure, handling routine maintenance, applying security patches, and providing expert support. This setup grants you full control of root access to configure your applications, while freeing you to concentrate on developing your website or software. Although they don’t disclose all security measures, they do state that all plans come with robust firewalls, real-time DDoS mitigation, malware detection, around-the-clock security monitoring, and complimentary SSL certificates by Let’s Encrypt.

Support
However, should you run into issues and need urgent assistance, you can get hold of their support agents 24/7 via live chat and support tickets, or you can do fault-finding yourself through their knowledge base, which is better than most in my opinion. Lastly, they also offer UltaAI support – you can ask their AI system questions, and it will spit out answers within seconds. Their agents are friendly and come across as well-trained!

Pros:
Multiple Control Panel Options: They offer their users the choice between the Hestia, CyberPanel, cPanel, Plesk, ISPmanager, and the aaPanel for web hosting management
Powerful Hardware: Reliable high-performance NVMe SSD storage drives come as standard with all their VPS plans.
Staging Environments: You can create an identical, but private, copy of your live website or application to test and make changes before you make it public.
Strong Security Set: Includes essential security measures such as SSL certificates, DDoS attack protection, robust firewalls, malware scanning, and Monrax security, an AI-powered, server-level malware protection and prevention platform for PHP-based Linux VPS and dedicated servers, designed for hosting providers, to name just a few.
Cons:
Overwhelming Focus on Price, Which Can Indicate Compromise: Ultahost's plans are very competitively priced. While this is a major pro, it can also be a con. Extremely low prices in the hosting industry are often sustained through high-density server packing.
No Phone Support: While their agents are always available, the lack of phone support is unfortunate.
My Bottom Line
Who is Ultahost VPS For?
The plethora of positive Ultahost VPS reviews isn't unfounded. This provider delivers powerful hardware, transparent Ultahost VPS pricing, and a level of flexibility that is hard to find at this price point. The Ultahost free VPS trial is the cherry on top, making it a remarkably low-risk option to try. In my opinion, it is an excellent choice and well worth considering should you be in the market for a new VPS provider.
