Cafe24.com is one of the popular South Korea-based e-commerce sites founded by Jaesuk Lee in 1999. They provide an entire shop for company services for companies that would like to set up and develop their online stores. It provides Website Building Tools, Shared Hosting, VPS Hosting, Domain Registration, and Payment Processing products. Cafe24 aims to allow companies, and particularly small and medium-sized companies (SMEs), to enter the digital world with an online presence. 

Trial Period

They don't, though, provide free trial periods to experiment with their services, nor do they provide money-back guarantees with any of their hosting plans. They do offer a "forever free" alternative for their e-commerce solution that provides you with unlimited use of a multitude of powerful online store tools.

Billing Cycle

Cafe24 offers monthly commitments on both their Shared Hosting and VPS hosting plans. They accept all major credit cards like Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal as payment options.

Control Panel

Their hosting plans utilize the CentOS Web Panel, a single-platform solution for web hosting server administration, suitable for both novice and experienced users. It is a graphical user interface with automation features for web hosting server administration with database, email, file, DNS administration, and more.

Limits

Their Shared Hosting plans, all on super fast SSD drives and on a 10GBps broadband connection, are available in 6 economical and scalable plans. Their least expensive plan, the ‘Economical’, starts with 700MB SSD disc space, 1.6GB monthly traffic, Unlimited MySQL, MariaDB or InnoDB databases, and 3x 5MB POP/IMAP email accounts, which should be sufficient for not much more than a small company business card or personal blog site, and their most expensive Shared Hosting package, the ‘Giant Plus’ comes with 14GB SSD disc space (which is still not a lot), 500GB bandwidth, 50x 5GB POP/IMAP email accounts, and Unlimited databases.

Cafe24 VPS plans, however, come with only 3 plans. The ‘Quick 391+ (Startup)’ comes with 4x Intel Xeon Cores CPUs, 16GB RAM, and 250GB SSD disc space + 1TB SATA (free disk). The ‘Quick 381+ (build-up)’ comes with 4x Intel Xeon Cores CPUs, 16GB RAM, and 500GB SSD disc space + 2TB SATA (free disk), while the ‘Quick S211 (scale up)’ comes with 10x Intel Xeon Core CPUs, 16GB RAM, and 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD + 500GB standard SSD + 2TB SATA (free disk) disc space.

Cafe24's website builder/e-commerce platform is one-stop and the core of their business model. Their website builder is very easy to use, so anyone can build their own website without needing to be a tech guru. You can drag and drop, select from many templates, and even build an online store with ease. Most small and medium enterprises in South Korea and other nations love it because it is very easy to install and manage everything in one place.

Security

Cafe24 Shared Hosting plans utilize encryption techniques like SSL/TLS to secure data transfer between users' devices and servers. Their Shared Hosting plans are based on the CentOS 7 operating system, a popular variant of CentOS, which is famous for its stability, long-term support, and openness to enterprise configuration, while their VPS plans offer clients the option of using CentOS 7, Ubuntu 22, Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2019.

Support

The support staff is accessible during normal Korean business hours via a Ticketing System, Email, or Phone. There is also a ‘frequently asked questions’ page for answers and solutions to most problems.

It should be noted that assistance is provided in the native language alone. So, if you are not proficient in Korean, get your hosting from somewhere else. 

Conclusion

Cafe24 is great for regular and e-commerce website hosting. They're affordable, and their network is super fast. There is a catch, though: they only support the local Korean market, and their support staff only speaks Korean. So, unless you're in Korea or Korean-speaking, they're not your best bet.
