Weebly was my first go at using a drag and drop web building app! It was a foundation for future learning about web development
and design for me. The UI is clean with easy blocks to use for drag and drop page building. The free version does have the Weebly banner at the bottom of the page and that can be removed when updating to Premium. Weebly is great for free if you are just starting out with web design and want to get a clean and easy site up and running quickly. The speed on the free service is acceptable I would definitely use Weebly again - going Premium to a Personal account is only $6 a month and is worth every penny if you are looking for a simple drag and drop interface for a simple project and potentially basic e-commerce.
I will be honest, I do not typically use the "Cookie Cutter Site Builder" type of hosts like Weebly, but I was asked to test the service for a client not to long ago, so I set up a small shop that I ran for 60 days. In order to make sure my review was fair, I selected the Performance plan at $29/month.
First, the pros:
Weebly allows you to set up an ecommerce website quickly and easily. The entire platform is built to make it easy for even the least technically inclined folks. And it certainly accomplishes that. They provide all the basic essentials like automatic integration with Square (who owns Weebly), ample storage, a free SSL, and some pretty decent analytics for your site.
Now the cons:
What good is a website, no matter how easy to setup, if it is slow? A slow website is one of the primary causes of cart abandonment or people simply never making it to the cart. Weebly is one of the slowest platforms I have ever tested. THe site I set up had just 25 products. A load test with just 25 simulataneous visits slowed my page load to 4.8 seconds. No matter what I did, I never could get my Google Page Speed score above 85%.
The 2 lowest tier plans include ads on your site. I can definetely understand this and am fine with this on the free plan. They gotta make money somehow. But the Personal plan which is a paid plan also has ads. I personally feel that once you start to pay for hosting, you should not be forced to display ads. Period.
Support. Support is laughable and I am convinced 100% scripted. Shortly after signing up, I contact support via live chat. I asked about how to configure the shipping labels feature. The agent responded with "What shipping label feature are you referring too?" Seriously??? Do you not know the platform you are supporting????
Even if you are ok with a cookie-cutter ecommerce site, Weebly is not the route you want to go.

I have been using Weebly for quite some time and there are a lot of pros and cons to their hosting. First of all, it is very simple to use and they offer plenty of different tools such as website drop-in builder, SEO support, plugins and etc. that are perfect for small businesses. Weebly's support on paid plans is great and can be accessed through chat, ticket or mobile and they all have fast response time. Weebly offers decent speed hosting due to its own platform websites. They offer a free plan that uses Weebly extension in the domain, as well as paid plans that are starting from $6 per month which is not too bad. However, there are a lot of disadvantages to this hosting, for example, you are very limited with your editing and change only things that are selected options on their interface. They are also using a lot of tricks to make you buy longer membership, just because, as I clicked to register on a 1-month plan, they automatically change it to six months paid membership that is very easy to overlook. It is also hard to migrate to a website on another platform, and Weebly is limiting your SEO options which do not include image name editing. Weebly is only for small businesses that do not have a lot of knowledge for building a website.

For drag and drop builders, Weebly is losing market share over the other two big companies, probably for many reasons. These reasons relevant to developers (who mostly create these websites for their customers) are slow speeds and lacking customer service. Their builder creates websites with massive HTML, CSS and JS files and this makes for extremely slow performance. I have ran large Weebly sites through PageSpeed Insights reports and have seen overall scores of less than 5 for both desktop and mobile. Yikes! My advice to developers is to alert your customers that they are available for only 10 hours per day Monday-Friday which can be very frustrating for many people, especially those outside of the United States.

Weebly is a simple and reliable hosting provider. They have their free plan where anyone can make their website. One can also opt for a paid version including a free domain starting at $5/month.
They have options for both personal/work & online store websites.
One can easily host and develop an online store for them. I found them good and reliable so far, having no issues other than customer support which is lacking.
Pros: Affordable hosting, Free plan, Solutions for normal and online store
Cons: Bad customer support.

Weebly is good solution to create free websites but the speed isn't that good. Maybe it's due to their templates that load a lot of JS and CSS. Keeping this aside, the drag and drop site builder is extremely powerful and awesome. You can use their brilliant site builder to launch a website within a few minutes. That's what I'm loving about Weebly. What I don't like about Weebly is their ads on even the most basic paid plan. This doesn't make sense. Overall, it is a good solution to create and launch basic sites quickly.

Weebly is, alongside Wix, one of the most popular drag&drop; website builders out there. With Weebly you get a free and simple way to produce a website...a simple one, at least. You don't have to worry about the hosting, domain and technical knowledge needed for website building; Weebly's drag&drop; interface and thousands of templates makes it easy to build a website in the matter of hours, even if you've never worked with WordPress or even heard of HTML, CSS and Javascript.
The trouble with free things is that you usually get as much as you pay. The domain you get with Weebly? For a free plan it will have a Weebly extension to it (i.e. ivanmarin.weebly.com), so not very professional, even for a starter. You do have an option to buy your custom domain straight at Weebly or transfer your own domain.
As for website builder, it has a really nice selection of templates and predefined blocks and plugins you can just drag and drop inside the pages of your website and start creating the interface for your new website. The layouts are responsive and they adapt easily to viewing on desktop, tablet or smartphone.
However, if you should need anything more sophisticated than Weebly's free bundle of templates and plugins, you will have to pay for it. Any back-end customization is virtually impossible on Weebly, or it least it requires heavy hacking and if you have that kind of technical knowledge you'd be better off creating your website yourself. Even front-end customization is only possible to a certain degree.
If you're a total, and I mean absolute total stranger to web development you may want to use Weebly to create a simple website at least to see how it can be done in, for instance, Divi or Elementor builder, to which I recommend you transfer as soon as possible.

One of the most used website builders. Very simple, drag and drop composer, with various and nice templates. You can build a nice and quite professional site without need of experience on site building. Unfortunately these builders are easy, but often limited on what you can do and implement. So, if the appearance can be professional, the reality is not at all. Weebly doesn't solve this: think about it if you don't just need a "showcase site".
Weebly is very basic. Just like WordPress. They offer various templates and tools are easy to use. I have tried their free one before switching to basic. Just a bit confused when looking for support as they do not have available support around the clock.
Only their Addons are the one that affect the prices, especially if you will add email marketing. But hosting alone is still cheap.

We highly recommend not to purchase the cheapest hosting package. Usually, they come with a row of issues: the server is often down, the hardware is outdated, lousy and slow support, registration and payment errors, etc.
For your convenience, we have created a tool that can help you to choose the right hosting package for you just by answering a few simple questions.
CMS is a content management system. A lot of hosting providers offer so-called CMS optimized packages. However, this is a marketing trick because most CMSs do not have special software or hosting requirements.
Bulletproof hosting - it’s a type of service that allows to host almost any type of content, even the restricted one (adult content, warez, spam etc). Bulletproof hosting providers do not remove your content in case someone reports an abuse.
Unlimited hosting - refers to companies that provide packages with unlimited disk space, bandwidth, number of domains, databases or email accounts, etc. This is usually a marketing trick but sometimes you can find something worth a try.
Secure hosting - it’s a type of service when the hosting provider is mostly responsible for the security of the user’s account: updates the software installed on their servers, provides an antivirus and malware scanner, firewalls and basic anti-DDoS protection, etc.
DDoS-protected hosting - companies that provide packages that include anti-DDoS protection. These packages are considerably more expensive than regular ones. Nevertheless, they’re totally worth their price because the company will ensure that your website is secured from cyber attacks.
The more comfortable the control panel is, the easier will it be for you to change the website and hosting account settings.
Most hosting providers that are in TOP20 in our rating offer user-friendly control panels, such as cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin. That’s why we recommend to pay attention to other, more important parameters, while choosing a hosting provider.
