Sean Thompson
I am a full-time web developer & IT professional with more than 18 years experience. I have been working with numerous hosting companies over the years.
First impression
Web Hosting Hub is an award-winning and budget-friendly hosting provider that is owned and operated by Inmotion Hosting. They got started in 2010 in Virginia Beach, VA, and have since expanded to an additional data center, located in Los Angeles, CA. This reputable provider offers easy-to-setup and affordable Shared Hosting plans, supported with domain name registrations, a free website builder, and free web applications, to fit almost every hosting need from blogs, e-commerce storefronts, and custom websites.
This highly-rated company is made up of more than 200 competent hosting experts and serves a solid, ever-growing, customer base of 40,000 seemingly happy clients.
Trial Period
Web Hosting Hub doesn’t offer a free trial to try out their services, but they do however provide a 90-day risk-free, money-back guarantee for new hosting account registrations, one of the longest you will find in this industry. Should you feel you want to cancel and still fall within the initial 90 days of signing up, they will give you a full refund - no questions asked.
Purchases of SSL certificates, domain privacy, and domain names don’t fall under this guarantee though and are nonrefundable.
Billing Cycle
Currently, Web Hosting Hub offers all-inclusive hosting plans with a minimum signup commitment of 1 year (billed monthly). The best deal however is to purchase three years of hosting where one can take advantage of significant discounts.
They accept various forms of payment, including all major Credit Cards like Visa, MasterCard, and American Express, as well as PayPal, and checks.
Control Panel
Web Hosting Hub makes use of cPanel on all the sites and blogs they host. They are actively involved in the cPanel Hosting community, and by sponsoring and attending hosting events, they make sure their technical teams stay on top of all cPanel updates, features and ensure that their servers are running the latest and most stable versions of cPanel.
Limits
When it comes to its hosting options, Web Hosting Hub has only one type in mind, and that is Shared Hosting. They offer 3 powerful, scalable, and affordable plans, namely Spark, Nitro, and Dynamo. They all run on fast SSD storage drives (no space limit) and include a free domain and free SSL certificate as well as unlimited email accounts.
The Spark plan will allow you to host up to 2 websites and have 10 MySQL databases available, whilst the other two plans come with unlimited sites and databases allocated.
They recommend you make your own backups frequently with their simple-to-use backup tool. It requires only a couple of clicks. But should you prefer they handle it, there’s an option to create a complete backup of your cPanel account every 24 hours for a minimal monthly cost.
There are no Windows-based plans.
Website Builder
The BoldGrid website builder is included free of charge on all Web Hosting Hub’s hosting plans. This easy-to-use, visual drag-and-drop builder is built on WordPress. It comes packed with themes and handles all the technical background stuff, leaving you to focus solely on being creative. A perfect tool to create beautiful and responsive websites fast, even if you don’t have any coding skills.
Security
Web Hosting Hub takes care of server-side security very well. They use Custom Advanced Policy Firewalls to allow/deny only necessary connections, suPHP protocol for file permissions, and Mod Security for general server attacks. In addition to this, they do 24/7 scans for malware and hacks and proactively quarantine files and inform customers if something is infected. They can also perform a malware scan upon request and show you the results.
All their plans include a complimentary SSL certificate by Sectigo.
OS
All Web Hosting Hub plans run on AlmaLinux OS, which is an open-source, community-driven Linux operating system that fills the gap left by the discontinuation of the CentOS Linux stable release and is also compatible with RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
Support
Web Hosting Hub offers their customers expert support from their 200+ well-trained, 100% U.S.-based support team. They are available around the clock, and should you require assistance you can reach them via Live Chat, Phone, or a Ticketing System. Their agents are friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to reply. When I tried them out (outside of U.S. business hours), I got helped within only 30 seconds on their Live Chat.
In addition to this, Web Hosting Hub is also available on Skype, and they offer a “Community Q&A” knowledgebase, and thousands of Online Tutorials.
