Sean Thompson
I am a full-time web developer & IT professional with more than 18 years experience. I have been working with numerous hosting companies over the years.
First impression
WPX was founded in 2013 in Sofia, Bulgaria, by an Australian expat named Terry Kyle and Georgi Petrov, a Bulgarian national, who back then shared an office whilst running different businesses. Frustrated with the web hosting industry in general, and more specifically WordPress hosting, they decided the time was ripe for change and WPX came to light.
This independent, forward-thinking, and 100% privately owned company is made up of 100+ highly skilled hosting experts and operates from data centers located in the USA, UK, and Australia.
They currently offer high-speed, premium WordPress hosting with their own CDN (content delivery network) as well as domain registrations.
Trial Period
WPX doesn’t offer new customers a trial period, but they do have a 30-day full refund policy, that applies to both monthly and annual subscriptions, for all their hosting plans. This is a full month for you as a WPX user to test the quality of their speed, support, and security. Should you cancel your hosting account during this period, they will issue a full refund.
All fees and purchases under 5$ USD, as well as domain-related purchases, are not refundable.
Billing Cycle
When signing up with WPX, you can choose between monthly and yearly payment options on all their plans. On yearly commitments, you will be incentivized with two free months.
WPX currently accepts PayPal and all major Credit Cards as valid forms of payment.
Control Panel
WPX utilizes the WPX Control Panel for its hosting services. This custom-built panel is not only fast and responsive but also extremely user-friendly and is exclusively available to their customer base.
Besides giving users a dashboard that will provide an immediate general overview of their WPX account status, WordPress Hosting plans, domains, email addresses, as well as any unpaid invoices that may need attention, it will also allow them to easily manage all aspects of their hosting account like databases, DNS, FTP Users and more from one convenient location.
Limits
WPX’s sole focus is WordPress hosting and thus all their servers run on Linux. Their award-winning, lightning-fast, and seemingly pricey plans come in 3 options, namely Business, Professional, and Elite.
The Business plans come standard with 15GB super-fast NVMe SSD Storage space, 200GB allocated Bandwidth, 1 GB RAM per site (you are allowed up to 5 Websites), and 1 CPU Core. The Professional plan, which is their most popular option, comes with 30 GB Storage space, 400 GB Bandwidth, 1 GB RAM per site, and 2 CPU Cores, whilst the Elite plan boasts 60 GB Storage space, Unlimited Bandwidth, 1 GB RAM per site, and 3 CPU Cores.
All plans include free SSL certificates, 3 PHP Workers allocated per site, and free Site Speed Optimization in order to score better on Google Core Web Vitals, a service most providers will charge you extra for.
Website Builder
There isn’t currently a website builder that they offer nor one they recommend, it is entirely up to your preference on which one you would like to install and use.
Security
When it comes to security, WPX doesn’t play around. They do everything possible to ensure that the websites hosted on their servers are working in the most secure environment possible. They achieve this by limiting account access with strict server security settings, Two-Factor Authentication, Mod Security as a firewall, only running the latest stable versions of PHP (versions 7 & 8), and a free malware removal tool (that is actively running in the background) in order to boost the server security even further.
On top of that, they also offer Unlimited Free SSL certificates by Let’s Encrypt, as well as the Enterprise Level of DDoS and Bot Attack Protection, which is included in each plan as standard.
OS
WPX makes use of the LLMP stack (Linux OS + Litespeed Web Server Enterprise + MariaDB + PHP) hosting configuration on all their plans, with OPcache enabled as caching method for PHP code.
They currently support PHP versions starting from 7.4 through to version 8.2.
Support
WPX offers two channels for its technical support, an Email Ticketing System and Live Chat. Their agents are friendly, well-trained, and ready to assist 24/7, including all holidays and weekends. They proudly state to have one of the quickest response times in the industry, and when I tried them out, they didn’t disappoint! I got assisted within a blazingly fast 4 seconds. Some requests however might need more time to be completed and the support agent may offer to open a ticket for you.
As with almost all hosting providers, 3rd party WordPress plugins or software falls outside the scope of their support and is the responsibility of the users themselves.

Although WPX might seem slightly more expensive than most providers, it is not really the case. They are fully transparent on their offerings, with absolutely no hidden fees, and you definitely get what you pay for and more! Their support is flawless, uptime excellent and the performance is probably the best on the market. The fact that they have another company, an animal charity called Every Dog Matters, where they use WPX profits, along with donations, to help stray animals in Europe, is just another reason to like them even more!
If you are looking for premium WordPress hosting with unmatched support, then this company should be on top of your list. Give them a try as you can’t go wrong - in the process, you will also be helping an animal in need.
