Moving to the new domain

Hi! I am moving to a new domain from my old one, but the structure and content of the new site is completely different from the old, even though the theme is the same. To solve the problem, I`m using 301 redirects and then, as I understand it, there are two ways forward: First way: Make the whole redirect from the old site to the new (URL on the old site redirects to the same URL on the new) and on the new website set up a redirect from pages with the old structure to the corresponding page with a new structure - (this is the advice of Yandex Technical Support.)
But then there are two problems: 1) On the old site there are 2000 pages but only 200 are needed. Only the ones with necessary info and good SEO rankings will be transferred. The result - a huge number of 404 errors. 2) Double redirects, and as a result there will be a long wait time. A dot redirect of the necessary pages - Basically I would have to redirect every page idividually. But will parameters such as PageRank and Alexa Rank then be lost, as well as search engine ranking for the new site? Thank you in advance!Answers (1)From our experience - it`s better to set up dot redirects than to have double redirects. For example, from oldsite.com/page.html to newsite.com/catalog/page.html. But please note that if new page has different content, and other Title + Description, then search engines will not connect with relevance of pages and will not return them to their former SEO rankings according to the old key words.
