I am a website designer and developer for over 7 years now, and I worked with several hosting companies in the past for each website project I handle.
First impression
ISPServer is a very reliable company that has been providing good hosting since 1997. The company is based in Russia, and most of their site is in Russian, which can make it difficult to understand. They do have an English option, but even then it isn’t always perfectly clear what is going on. That being said, however, their hosting actually seems to be quite good.
ISPserver offers low-cost shared hosting plans, VPS, and solid dedicated servers with full DDoS attack protection in addition to domain name registration and extras such as backup storage and website monitoring at reasonable prices. Their website is available in both Russian and English.
Suitable for small websites and personal blogs, their shared hosting plans come with your choice of cPanel or their in-house ISPmanager 5 Lite control panel in addition to a number of features and user-friendly tools. You can choose from three fully managed plans with bi-weekly backups and DDoS protection for your websites and web apps.
Trial period
We encourage you to sign up for their 7-day free trial just to have a feel of their hosting. Also we don't have specific information about ISPserver.com's hosting services or their money-back guarantee policy. However, many web hosting companies typically offer some form of money-back guarantee, often ranging from 30 to 60 days. This allows customers to try out the hosting service and see if it meets their needs without risking their money.
Billing cycle
ISPserver’s prices are amongst the cheapest I’ve seen so far. They have a number of low-cost hosting plans that you can order and pay via PayPal, credit card, bank transfer, and Yandex.Money. From the order page, you can add IPv4s and domains (both are optional) and select your preferred billing cycle before you check out. You can choose from monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual plans.
Control panel
ISPserver has its own Cpanel interface called ISPmanager Control Panel, you can enjoy your hosting experience with the free ISPmanager control panel, even if you’re a beginner. Everything you need is available straight from the browser window: user and domain management, mail setup, backups creation, file upload, DNS, FTP, PHP, Databases and much more.
Install Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal and more in just 3 clicks, right from the control panel, and start creating a website.
Limits
Each of ISPserver’s shared hosting plans feature SSD storage. Their entry-level plan, dubbed First, comes with a cap of one hosted domain, a free .ru or .рф domain registration (with purchase of annual plan), five databases, and 10GB SSD storage. This can easily support a blog or website with a healthy amount of multimedia and web traffic, not to mention the fact that the amount of disk space they’re offering is above the market average for this price range.
Their most expensive shared hosting plan, Third, takes you up to 30 hosted domains, 50 databases, and 50GB disk space. It’s good enough to support multiple simultaneous streams of videos and audios. When placing an order for a hosting package, you can include any of the following value-added services:
- Premium SSL certificates;
- Domain names in different countries;
- IP4 addresses;
- Website transfer;
- Full DDoS protection against malicious attacks;
- Proactive monitoring and server care;
- Regular backup storage.
ISPserver also provides SSD virtual private servers with an ISPmanager 5 control panel. Their VPS plans are good for medium-sized to large-sized online businesses that require dedicated resources for their mail servers, enterprise software, or focused web projects. With their VPS hosting, you get four ready-made plans: VPS Project, VPS Startup, VPS Develop, and VPS-Business with one to four cores, 1-8GB RAM, and 50-200GB HDD storage. During the checkout process, you can specify the speed and security of the connectivity you’d like, ranging from 100Mbps unmetered traffic to 20Mbps on a DDoS-protected channel.
Security
SSL (TLS) - encrypts the data transferred between a user and a site. SSL (TLS) is a protocol that creates secured and encrypted internet-connection between the user’s web-browser and the server. The data is encrypted thus third parties won’t be able to intercept data by monitoring network traffic.
For Virtual Hosting, DDoS protection is enabled by default. For a Virtual or Dedicated Server, the service should be enabled separately.
OS
ISPserver.com primarily utilizes Linux-based operating systems for their hosting servers. Linux is a popular choice for web hosting due to its stability, security, and flexibility. It offers a wide range of features and supports various web technologies commonly used in hosting environments.
Support
ISPserver provides fast and professional technical support in Russian and English. They are available 24 hours a day and can resolve over 70% of your hosting problems or account-related issues within 15 minutes. You can contact them by phone between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m (UTC+8), send them an email, or chat with live operators whenever you need assistance with website migration, server configuration, software installation, or troubleshooting.
Conclusion
Pros |
Cons |
- 99.9% uptime SLA;
- Enterprise grade SSD;
- Free Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate;
- Free 7-day trial.
|
- Strong focus on Russian customers.

Overall this company seems to do a very good job, and they have been around a long time so they clearly know what they are doing. While they do offer some options for English speaking customers, their primary focus is clearly the Russian market. For those who speak Russian, however, this may be a great company to consider.
FAQ:
💮What is a VPS?
A Virtual private server (VPS) is a fully functional system running in a multi-tenant environment. In terms of management, a VPS is much similar to a traditional server. Administrator of the virtual server has root permissions to manage the entire system, except its hardware.
❔What is the difference between VPS server and cloud hosting?
A VPS doesn’t have limitations, which are common to shared hosting. You may host any number of web-sites, databases, domains, various users, and what not. Each virtual private server has its unique IP address, or it may be assigned multiple IP addresses if needed. A VPS server is limited by physical resources, such as RAM, CPU, however the resources are guaranteed to be available, unlike on shared hosting. With KVM technology neither you nor your clients will notice any RAM and CPU limits.
🔰What software can be installed on a VPS?
You can install the following operating system on your VPS: Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, AlmaLinux, FreeBSD, Windows Server 2019, 2022. If you want to install another OS, which is not included into this list, we can discuss it. Please note, software programs that you install on your server will occupy the hard disk space. You can easily resize your KVM disk by submitting a ticket to our Technical support.
