Editor's opinion
Sean Thompson
I am a full-time web developer & IT professional with more than 18 years experience. I have been working with numerous hosting companies over the years.
First impression
FastComet is the relatively 'new kid on the block' in terms of hosting companies. This San Francisco startup has only been around since 2013 and already rubbing shoulders with some of the big hosting providers in terms of performance & support. The fact that the co-founders had 10 years of experience in the hosting world prior to starting this privately funded company shows as they knew the importance of getting the basics right and what customers want.
Their servers are lightning fast, boasting NVMe SSDs on all servers, 99.9% uptime & come with free Cloudflare CDN (Content Delivery Network). This coupled with the fact that their servers are a lot less congested (FastComet has 3x fewer users per server), leaves their competition in their dust.
FastComet currently offers CPanel Shared Hosting, Cloud VPS Hosting & Dedicated Server Hosting. Signing up is hassle-free and they have a user-friendly client area from where you can easily manage your billing, and products and log support tickets. Support is available around the clock via live chat, email, support tickets, or phone, with most issues being resolved in an average of 15 minutes or less. This company also makes daily backups free of charge, keep them for 30 days, and should you run into any problems on your shared hosting they will also restore the backups for you if needed.
FastComet will transfer your domain and migrate your website for you at no cost and like most of the more well-known companies they offer a free domain registration when signing up.
Their broad customer base is serviced by 11 strategically located data centers in North America, Europe, Asia & Oceania and is fully redundant with a RAID 10 configuration so that you don't ever have to worry about failed drives or data loss.

Trial period
Fastcomet is so confident that their customers will like their service that they offer a full 45-day money-back guarantee on their shared hosting and a 7-day money-back guarantee for all VPS Servers.
Billing cycle
With FastComet you can sign up for 1 month or 1 - 3 years on their shared plans. On the VPS plans you have the option to choose between 1 - 3 months and only after that can you sign up for a year. Both shared hosting & VPS have big initial sign-up discounts being 80% and 30% respectively at the time of writing this review. They accept PayPal and all standard credit cards as payment.
Control panel
FastComet doesn't offer a wide variety of control panels like some of its competitors. They only offer CPanel, but as that is the most popular and powerful web hosting control panel around, one can't really fault them too much for limiting the options.
Limits
They have 3 options on their Shared Hosting namely, Fastcloud, Fastcloud Plus & Fastcloud Extra.
Fastcloud comes bundled with 15GB space, 2GB RAM & 2 CPU Cores. The space feels a bit inadequate, but in reality, that should be more than enough for most websites.
Fastcloud Plus packs a bit more punch with 25GB space, 3GB RAM, and 4 CPU Cores and their Fastcloud Extra features 35GB, 6GB RAM & 6 CPU Cores.
Although their entry-level package only allows for 1 website, you are allowed to have unlimited parked domains connecting to that site. Both Fastcloud Plus and Fastcloud Extra offer unlimited websites and unlimited domains.
One should note that only 1 domain registration is free of charge when signing up.
The bandwidth allocated on Shared Hosting works on the 'Fair Usage' policy.
Their Cloud VPS offers 4 options, Cloud 1 up to Cloud 4. Each package increases CPU's, space, and bandwidth accordingly.
All of these are extremely scalable and one can resize your server up or down at any time as your needs change. Free automated daily and weekly backups and free full data snapshots upon request are also included.
Security
All their servers are protected by FastGuard, their own security methodology, as well as Imunify360, which is a comprehensive security suite for Linux servers. Servers protected by FastGuard and Imunify360 learn from each attack and inform each other about malicious activities. Users are protected from DDOS attacks, SQL Injections, and Cross-site Scripting (XSS) attacks and each account is completely isolated, meaning even if a website on the same server is compromised, it can never affect your account or website.
OS
All their plans are CloudLinux based. On the FastComet VPS solutions, they can offer Ubuntu however the server will be unmanaged.
Support
FastComet support is fantastic. They are available round-the-clock through live chat, email, support ticketing, or phone. Responses are fast, friendly, professional, and they are definitely willing to go the extra mile.

For a relatively young company, they have made big strides. They got the basics spot on and are growing at a steady pace. The initial sign-up prices are great however renewal becomes a bit expensive. Overall a great company with a bright future that will grow from strength to strength.
