Editor's opinion
Lorienz Galarpe
I am a website designer and developer for over 7 years now, and I worked with several hosting companies in the past for each website project I handle.
First impression
EasySpace has been offering hosting services to people in the UK. They are part of the well known iosmart PLC, which owns several other hosting companies, all of which have a good reputation.
Operating since 1997, Easyspace has been part of the domain registration and web hosting industry in the UK from the get-go. In 2004, it was purchased by iomart, a Scottish information technology and cloud computing company that was the first to offer consumer broadband connections in the UK. Easyspace has since greatly benefited from iomart’s investment into the network and infrastructure with ten self-run data centers that stretch across eight locations throughout England, Scotland, and Wales.
Easyspace lives up to its name, providing a straightforward setup experience that doesn’t require any technical skills at all. If you’re a beginner, you’ll really appreciate the managed WordPress hosting, as all you really need to focus on is the content of your website. Easyspace takes care of everything else, including backups, security monitoring, and updates.
The setup process is one of the easiest I’ve encountered, and I really like the fact that Easyspace doesn’t use a 1-click installer for apps like WordPress, instead offering professional installation by its technical support team.
Managing Your Account
One thing that I really like about Easyspace’s dashboard/account control panel is that it’s so easy to navigate. The pages you’re most likely to need to access are displayed as coloured tiles – and all the other options are easily accessible via the sidebar menu (or pop-out menu if you’re viewing the control panel on a smartphone or tablet).
Easyspace website builder comes complete with many prebuilt apps and widgets to help you create useful interactive websites without having to know how. Their website builder allows you to build a website quickly without spending hours wrestling with technical code.
Easyspace have recently launched EasySiteLive PRO – a package which enables you to build & manage your own website. You don’t need any technical skills, programming knowledge or web design skills in order to use it.
With EasySiteLive PRO it is so simple for anybody to set up their own website. If you can write an email, then you will be able to use EasySiteLive PRO – it’s that easy to use.
Trial period
Easyspace is currently offering a Free 21 Day Trial of EasySiteLive PRO, so you can test it out, create your own website and make sure you are happy with how easy it is to use.
Billing cycle
With Easyspace you can decide between various hosting types including shared hosting (entry-level, standard, premium, and WordPress-oriented), cloud and VPS hosting (where you’ll find highly flexible solutions), and dedicated server hosting (where you can opt between pre-built and custom servers). In addition to hosting, Easyspace offers Microsoft 365 packages, business email, SSL certificates, a website builder, web design solutions, and management services.
A great entry-level web hosting package that gives you just enough to get started online. Hosted and supported in the UK with our own dedicated teams. You can choose Monthly, 1 Year, 2 Years and up to 5 Years Billing period.
Control panel
Control all aspects of your servers with Plesk, cPanel and their powerful, bespoke control panel. Easyspace cPanel makes administration of your sites, email and server easy. You can install it during your signup process, so it's ready and waiting.
The Easyspace control panel makes it easy to request a power cycle for your server. If you make a reboot request in error, their system failsafe has the ability to cancel the power cycle request for up to 2 minutes.
Limits
With all shared hosting plans you can opt between Linux and Windows, even with the entry-level one, and for the same price. The most pocket-friendly plan Entry starts at £2.99 ($4.05) per month and provides a single site, one free domain name for a year, countless subdomains, 1GB of storage space (that’s hardly enough), unlimited bandwidth, but no SSL certificate. To get a free SSL certificate, you’ll have to go with the “Premium” plan at least, and even then it will be yours for one year only.
As for the Premium plan, you will also get Unlimited SSD Storage, Unlimited Bandwidth, Free Domain name for 1 year, 5 MySQL Databases, and 10GB Email Storage.
Security
Once you have a package with Secure hosting enabled - you turn it on by clicking one button in your Easyspace control panel.
Easyspace offers a range of leading SSL certificates such as GeoTrust, VeriSign and Thawte for all types of websites and budgets, to maximise trust for your online business and provide an essential peace of mind when it comes to security.
OS
Easyspace offers both Linux and Windows Web Hosting OS; each technology is configured to meet your requirements. Linux hosting should be selected should you wish to use PHP, MYSQL or PERL whereas Windows hosting should be selected should you wish to use ASP.net or MSSQL.
Support
If you run into trouble with your website, or simply want to throw a question or two, your best bet is to get in touch with Easyspace’s staff via live chat. It is supposed to be available round-the-clock, but our experience tells us that you’ll be better off trying to reach them during office hours. Alternatively, you can give them a ring Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, submit a support ticket, or send them an email.
Ticket response times are also pretty slow – especially if you submit a ticket in the evening. I submitted a question at 7pm one evening and got a response around 12 hours later – making me wonder if Easyspace’s support really is 24/7.
As for self-support options, Easyspace’s support section offers a “System Status” page and a comprehensive knowledge base well-stocked with step-by-step guides. These guides are separated into ten suitable sections (like email help, hosting help, server help, and such) which are further divided into more specific subjects. As far as we can see, most of the guides follow the rule “show, don’t tell” and seem pretty user-friendly.

With a wide variety of reasonably priced hosting solutions that come with all the essential features you need for a successful start, there isn’t much to dislike about Easyspace. A welcome setup call, 24/7 support, and in-depth guides are likely to attract less tech-savvy users, while superb speed performance and ten self-run data centers across the UK will easily charm everyone, especially the users from the Old Blighty.
If you’re looking for a host from the UK and don’t mind the lack of a free trial or refund policy, Easyspace might be one of the top choices for you.
